R: Two New Characters R here with two new characters - I've spoken with more of the angels about Michael already, but I'm open to sorting out lines with others, and I'm absolutely here for getting Esma some attention.
I'm sorry I've been a little absent - between hurricane blackouts and working on some job-related writing (Writing professionally makes me anxiety spiral which is a great trait for someone trying to be a professional writer) I haven't had the bandwidth to keep up with everything, so I'm going to try and get back in the swing this week.
Esma (Esmeralda) Lenormandlenormand - Esmeralda Lenormand is an advice columnist Podcaster, a job she does anonymously. She's also into weird editorial and investigative journalism. She's not someone looking for haunts, necessarily, she thinks people are plenty weird even without the supernatural, and liked to read up on conspiracy theories in her spare time.
Esmeralda is also the reincarnation of Marie Lenormand, her great-great-great-grandmother. Marie Lenormand was famously Napoleon's psychic and fortune teller. Esma herself possesses some of these abilities, but she's largely unaware of that fact. Her psychic intuition, as of right now, pretty much manifests itself as the great advice she gives on her Podcast. As her story in Seven Devils unfolds, however, she'll become more aware of the fact she's psychic and just how important to her grandmother really is.
Michaelhosanna - Michael is the leader of God's army. Above all else, she is a soldier: that means she follows God's orders without question or hesitation. She doesn't believe in meddling with human affairs unless God has told her to do so. She is unwavering in her position and her loyalty to God. She's come to Seven Devils because of the rising demonic activity, and while she doesn't know for sure, she's basically hoping that this is it - and that the end times are drawing close.
She won't be entirely unapproachable while she's on earth, but she has the ability to read a person's 'alignment' and know the current state of their soul almost instantly. She doesn't really believe in shades of grey: if you aren't on the side of the angels entirely than in her mind you're on Lucifer's side. Everything, to her, is black and white.
While she's pretty dismissive of most humans, she does have a bit of a soft spot for the Templars: they have always, after all, treated Saint Michael with esteem, as they believe themselves to be representatives of God's army on earth.
