At the sight of Noel entering the cafe, Veronica returned his wave with a polite smile and one of her own. She set aside her book then, placing it into her purse as she took a sip of her own hot latte while she waited for him to order.
When he sat down across from her, Veronica's smile grew. Shaking her head she said, "No, no, you're perfectly fine. I was early."
Already she could feel a sense of calm coming from the man. Veronica didn't know how he did it, but it was nice. Incredibly welcoming over the usual emotions she tended to pick up on at the club. Those were usually a rather wide range from pure bliss, to lust, to frustration and angry drinking. It took enough willpower already to hold her own through it without her abilities acting strangely. "I'm better. I have my control back," she told him, honestly. Of course, for her, that wasn't saying much. But it was definitely more than what she had during the mess. "I really can't thank you enough for helping me the way you did. I appreciate it. I know that was probably a weird thing to ask of someone. But, thank you."
"How have you been?" she asked, reaching for her cup again. "Are things settling down with your students?"
