Alexandra had a firm belief that Helen was just looking out for her self in this instance. She didn't want anything to tar her reputation. If the SGs were a threat she would be the one blamed for it. But Alex could see the bigger picture. Their society did not like deception from it's government. There was no way to have contained all of the Specialis Gens when they had appeared.
"We are doing both. All of the SGs were gathered up when we found them and given full medical scans and evaluations. We found nothing wrong with them. Other than being here in the first place." Alexandra paced back and forth as she spoke.
"We had no control on their presence becoming known. They didn't just appear in one place Helen, they appeared all over the city. How would you have stopped them from being known? What would you have done? Rounded them all up and incarcerated them for no crime? Or maybe you would have locked them away some where to be experimented on? How were you going to keep the presence of 21,000 people quiet from the public? Kill them all? That is not a solution."
Alexandra slammed her hands down on the table glaring at Helen. "No follow-up?" She barked out a laugh, "What on Serenus do you think I have been doing? I have been speaking to them, monitoring them, making sure that they know what they can or can't do." Alex began pacing again. "This in NOT my mess. This is everyone's situation. I wasn't the only one who pushed for them to be brought into the society and they are not handling it alone. Several of our citizens have become friends with them and are helping them to adjust, so don't you dare put this all on my shoulders!"
