“Veggie burger?” she echoed with a palpable distaste in her timbre. Megan had this intuition that veggie burgers were nothing but tomatoes and lettuce on a bun and that hardly sounded appealing to her. However, she could understand how vital free space was on the ship, meaning rid away anything that the human population could live without, such as meat since they had those nice protein pills, right? “Okay, well, let’s find some ice cream first before we talk about… veggie burgers.” They had no such thing in the town that she lived in. Then again, she was one of the few who took a liking to personal hygiene in the place she was at back then.
Megan’s body molded comfortably against the side of Reed’s warm frame, her hands in the back pockets of her jeans as he rubbed her pale arms. She laughed. “Nah, it’s cool. I like your nice, muscular arm around me,” she said with a certain teasing tone, poking at his hard stomach. “And hey, I’m letting you touch me without causing a fit. You should feel fucking special,” she joked. Even though it shouldn’t have come to a surprise, Megan couldn’t help the arch of her brows when he called her beautiful again. Huh, he must have really meant it. Still, his answer lacked conviction, and she said, “I would be perfectly fine if you’d rather have this to be a normal, hang out day. I promise you, since having you to go with the flow is like pulling teeth already.” Playing with the end strands of her hair, her eyes rolled. “You don’t get laid because you’re in the fucking desk all the time. For fuck’s sake, there are a shitload of chicks who would sleep with you. Just so you’re aware.”
