The throne room was glowing, pulsing and alive with everything that looked as though it had just come straight out of any human’s nightmare. At first glance the huge, spacious room that was probably the most important room in Hell looked little more than a nightclub that had been decorated for Halloween. Obvious differences aside; the men and women that crowded the place, looking dressed in costume for All Hallows’ Eve were just what they appeared, there were vampires, there were werewolves, demons, an angel and even a couple of zombie illusions hanging around in the darkest corners just waiting for some unsuspecting bystander to wander their way. The flames that flickered around the doorways were real and yet they burned from no candle, seeming to just burn and appear out of nowhere, the ‘club lights’ that pulsed slowly in hues of red, blue and white were not what they appeared to be, from far away they looked like the bulbs of any standard lights, up close they looked like battery powered orbs of light but the truth was every orb that brought light to the place was a soul. The skeletons that hanging from the walls were real just like the human skulls that were the only structure of Lucifer’s throne, the occasional distant screaming of tortured souls were far from an audio tape just like the skeleton cat skulking under the buffet table was anything but battery operated. In one dark corner there was a free and open bar where the very human bartender was quaking in his boots and serving up everything there was to offer including the most literal version of the Bloody Mary around.
All the supernatural had been invited, along with every human that was left surviving in Santa Carla and surrounding areas, the invitations had been sent out but those were just for show so those who wanted to come could be easier to find. Those who had no intention of attending, well, right now there were Demons scouring every inch of the city, dragging whatever humans they could find down to the fiery depths of Hell and into the throne room for the party no one was going to forget.
