Frankie giggled as he walked through the halls in search of his father. The puppy from Judas was in his arms, wiggling around excitedly and licking his face whenever it could. And that would explain the giggling. But it wasn't a pet for him. It was a present for his daddy and Frankie was just hoping the man would like it.
Lucifer was in a meeting with a few high ranking minions, discussing what was happening on earth. He could sense his son approaching, but wasn't sure which one it was until he heard the giggling. "Meeting adjourned," he waved a hand at the demons, ushering them out of the room. When Frankie entered, Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "I never said you could have a zombie rat," he scolded.
"Hi daddy!" Frank said loudly, almost screaming it because of his excitement. He was grinning like an idiot and boucning in place just inside the doors. At least until he heard the rat comment. "It's not a rat! Or a zombie for that matter." Sticking his tongue out at the older male, he moved forward and held the puppy up to his father's face, giggling again with it licked the other's cheek. "Say hi to your new dog!"
Lucifer looked appalled as Frankie brought in the rat sized dog, pulling back in disgust when it licked his cheek. "Frankie, dear, daddy has hellhounds. There's never been a hellpoodle before. I can't keep this dog."
Frank just giggled again when he pulled back. "But he's cute!" he protested after hearing his father say he couldn't keep the dog. "And I got yelled at just getting him for you." Cuddling the dog against his chest once more, he quickly got a lot calmer than he had been when he came in and pouted.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "And how did you happen to acquire this dog?" he asked, though he knew it was through thievery. He just didn't know it was Judas who stole it off a hooker who was a health freak. "Where'd he come from?"
Shrugging, he went back to petting the white puppy and didn't look up. "There's a scary lady up there with bad hair and a weird face who had him. She always calls me cute and keeps asking to meet my dad when I see her. I think she wants to marry you just to get to us." He scrunched his face up and scratched at his nose a bit. "We stole him from her. Poor puppy needed a better home."
"We?" Lucifer repeated. "We stole a dog from some ugly bitch? Who was this we? Zacky's not in the shape to run and I don't see you trying to steal a dog you won't turn into a zombie. So when you say 'we', do you mean that no good friend of yours? Don't lie. I see all."
"Well....it was my idea," he said as he cuddled the dog even closer and rubbed his cheek against it's fur. "Pinkly needed a better home. That lady is scary! Judas helped though since he was the one to see her with him earlier. He helped me get the puppy for you and you don't like it!"
"Pinkly?" Lucifer's eyes widened in horror. "You named that hellrat Pinkly and you want me to keep it here?" He looked around to make sure no one was seeing this exchange take place. "Do you realize I'll never get laid again if I keep that thing here? I have a reputation to hold up to."
Frank just sighed. "I guess I'll take him back again. Maybe Zacky will want to keep him," he muttered. He'd been so excited on the way down there but now that had all disappeared. Now he was just sad.
Lucifer sighed, Damn his kids being a weak spot. "Wait," he said tiredly, closing his eyes and trying to be patient. "I'll keep the damn mutt." He held his arms out dejectedly, waiting for Frankie to hand the dog over to him. "Pinkly, come to daddy. Here, girl," he whistled.
Shaking his head, Frank just held the dog closer. "You don't really want him. I'll take him back to the scary woman upstairs. She tried to beat Judas up to get him back earlier anyway."
Lucifer shrugged. "Okay, give her back, you'll just miss out on how unbelievably retarded Zacky would look carrying her around." He turned to go to his desk, knowing Frankie would take any opportunity to make his brother look stupid.
"I think he's mad at me too," Frank said softly, sitting down right where he was and letting the dog curl up in his lap. "Zacky's always mean to me anyway. And then he gets mad when I'm mean to him in return. He hasn't talked to me since I showed everyone those pictures of him."
Lucifer watched him with a frown, unsure of what to do. Who knew being a father of twins would be so difficult? The sad part was, they weren't going to get any older and more mature. This was pretty much it. Clearing his throat, he thought of something to say. "I smell more than one dog, you know," he said conversationally. "I think they're in her belly. Do you really want to give a mother puppy and her pups back to a mean ugly lady?"
Picking the the puppy up again, Frank turned her around and looked at her belly. "Are you sure? She's too little to have more than one in there," he said, cheering up a bit at the idea. Even if he did act childish and immature most of the time, when the situation called for it he could be completely serious. It just hadn't called for it yet. But when it did, he would surprise everyone that knew him. "If there's a black one, can I have it?"
Lucifer laughed at that, shaking his head. "We'll keep all of them. They can be my own personal army of ankle biters. How does that sound?" At that, he went and took the puppy from Frankie, cradling it like he actually wanted to. Maybe he wasn't such a bad father after all. "But if you get to keep this dog's pups, you know Zacky has to have a dog too."
"But you've got hellhounds, remember? You said so yourself." He couldn't help but smile a bit though when his father came and took the puppy from him. But he still didn't believe that the other wanted his present. "I was gonna get him one too. A black one that's evil and bites everyone. Even him. It's what he gets for saying I have a fat ass."
Lucifer opened his mouth a few times like a fish gasping for water, unable to think of what to say to that since neither of his sons had much of an ass when a distraction presented itself. "LUCY-FER!" He heard the unmistakable voice of Judas, walking into the room. Of course he was looking right at Lucifer and didn't see the pool of Frankie on the floor. "What are you doing with Frankie's....? ACK!" He fell right over Frankie, sprawling out on the floor. "What the fuck? Oh fuck, Frankie? What are you doing on the floor?" He looked down at his own pants. then looked up at the devil. "I didn't piss myself, its dog pee."
Frankie groaned as soon as Judas tripped over him, ending up sprawled out across the floor where he'd been kicked over. "Damnit you asshole! Look where you're going next time, fucker," he muttered, reaching over to smack his friend. Then decided to crawl over and just sit on Judas's chest instead of the floor. "How come you're still wearing the ones Pinkly pissed on? I thought you stole some more after getting him for me." He thought for a minute before shaking his head again. "Oh yeah, nevermind. I remember now. You just took them off instead of getting more and showed me your ass."
Judas frowned when Frankie smacked him, rubbing the sore spot. "Hey, that wasn't very nice," He sat up, looking at his pants. "I couldn't find any other pants. Yours would barely cover my knees and the only other I saw was on the JUICY bitch. Granted, I'm juicier than her, but pink is not my color." He looked up at Lucifer. "I wanted to see your dad, actually. See, I need..." Lucifer interrupted. "For the last time, you can't have laser beams for eyes."
"Since when have I been nice?" Frank replied, hanging on when Judas sat up and wrapping his legs around the other's torso. "Stay still, damn you," he muttered, then smacked him once again for the crack about his pants. "What were you doing around the scary lady again? Did she come back looking for the dog?" When his friend looked up, Frankie settled a bit more comfortably on him, not planning to get up any time soon. "Ooooh, that would be so cool!"
"See? Even Frankie wants me to have them!" he pouted, though this wasn't very effective on the devil. He sighed, looking back at Frankie. "Your dad has the dog. Why does your dad have the dog? And no, I didn't see her again. I think I scared her." He looked back at Lucifer. "Did he tell you I got him that dog? I got my ass kicked by some bitch with bad hair." Lucifer shuddered, disgusted. "I hate bad hair."
"Yeah! You know how much fun we could have if you gave him those?" Frank moved his arms up to wrap around Judas's neck as he spoke, pulling himself closer to the taller man. "I gave him the dog. He doesn't really want her though so we gotta take her back up with us. But Dad says she's gonna have puppies so we get to keep those too. Scary lady can't have them back."
Judas laughed. "What are you, twelve?" he teased, using his fingers to tickle Frankie's side. "You little fucker." Lucifer sighed, rolling his eyes. Soon these boys would be rolling around on the floor, wrestling until they were both naked.
"Mayyyyybe." Frank giggled a bit, nowhere near as maniacally as usual though and squirmed when he was tickled. "Stop, fucker!" Instead of pulling away though, he dragged himself in even closer and bit down on Judas's neck. Maybe this wasn't the best place to be doing this, but right then he really didn't care.
Judas nearly squealed when he was bitten but he made no effort to pull away. Instead, he wrapped his arms around his waist and laid his head on his shoulder, smiling to himself. "You little vampire," he teased, rubbing the small of his back. Lucifer groaned. "You two cut it out!"
Frank just bit down harder and clung to him a bit more. He was comfortable and had no intention of moving no matter what anyone said. "You like it," he muttered when he was teased, then looked up and blinked innocently at his father. "Cut what out?"
Pinkly noticed the arrival of her kidnapper and began growling at him from within Lucifer's arms. When she started barking angrily, Lucifer burst into a sunny smile. "Good doggie! Good girl!" he praised, sounding like a parent cooing to a baby. "Who's daddy's good girl? You get that bad Judas. Bite him right in the kiester!"
Eyes widening an almost comical amount, Frank stared at the dog as it growled and barked at his friend. "Wow. She really doesn't like you," he said, looking down at the man he just happened to be sitting on top of right then. "I wonder why."
Judas shrugged, looking at the dog closely. "Maybe it's Jesus's dog reincarnated?" he suggested. "Pinkly, be a good baby girl and like your ol pal, Judas," he held his hand out, crying out when the dog promptly bit his hand. Lucifer laughed. "Looks like there's a doggy who gets to stay in the Hell realm." He scratched Pinkly behind the ear. "What a great dog."
Frank reached for Judas's arm, pulling on it and dragging his injured hand closer. Then, after looking over the bite, he proceeded to lick the wound clean, sucking lightly at it a few times just to see what kind of reaction he'd get. "He didn't like Pinkly until you showed up, you know," he muttered as he looked from his friend to his father. "Now I think he loves her."
Judas frowned, distracted by the sucking by what he said. He actually looked hurt. "You think your dad hates me that much?" he asked, watching Frankie lick the blood off his palm. "I always thought he was just kidding." He looked at Lucifer with wounded eyes. "He wouldn't have died on the cross if it weren't for me, you ungrateful bitch!"
"It doesn't matter," Frank whispered softly, pulling himself even closer to Judas and hugging him tightly once all the blood on his hand was gone. "I still like you. He's being a big meanie head today anyway." He was frowning again now that his friend was upset.
Lucifer laughed. Sure, it was cruel, but he couldn't help it. Big meanie head? Only his son. "No, Judas is quite right. I don't like him. No one does. Only you, Frankie." He shook his head. "Judas is no good for you. He isn't good for much of anything. Are you, Judas." Judas frowned, looking down over Frankie's shoulder. "You're the master. I am what you say I am."
Looking up at his father, Frank glared. "I like him and that's all that matters," he said defiantly. He didn't even care what anyone else though. Even if his parents did try to make them stop being friends, he wouldn't listen. "He's good for me because he's my friend and nothing's gonna change that."
Judas didn't respond to what they were saying, just letting them hash it out. He was used to not being the favorite. That was why he didn't have any powers. Pinkly growled and snapped at Judas, making Lucifer laugh even harder. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That's just too funny. Settle down, Pinkly. Leave the man alone. Judas, no laser vision and that's my final word. Is there anything else I can do for you?" Judas shook his head. "You're dismissed then."
Frank sighed, only getting up when Judas was dismissed. He wasn't happy at all though. Not like how he'd been when he first got there. "Come on. Let's go home, Judas. I don't wanna be here anymore either," he said quietly, reaching down for his friend's hand to pull him up.
Judas took his hand and let him pull him to his feet. "You were not dismissed," Lucifer reminded, his eyes turning black with anger. Pinkly squirmed out of his arms and went to go lay under the desk, keeping a watchful eye on the three males. "Judas, you go, I want a word with my son."
"I don't care!" Frank replied without looking up at his father. And right then he really didn't. He didn't care at all about dismissed or anything like that. "I'm going home with my friend. Have fun with your new pet."
Lucifer felt anger rise up inside of him and with a flick of his wrist, the door that they'd exit through was engulfed in flames without really burning anything. But both men should know that if they passed through it, they'd be scalded. "I did not dismiss you," he said again, more firmly.
Staring at the flames, Frank just rolled his eyes. He knew that going though it would hurt and, had he been alone, he probably would have just gone anyway. But he wasn't alone and leaving anyway could always end up in his only real friend getting hurt because of him. So he turned back to look at the man keeping them there. "Can we go now?"
"I said I wanted a word with you. I'll be happy to let your friend leave unharmed if you give me your word you'll remain behind. And don't think I don't know you can trick me and just run out after him, but remember this. I don't have to be in the same room with him to kill him, and he was given to me by God to do with what I please. Are you going to behave." Judas sighed, shaking his head. "Just stay, Frank. I can catch up with you later."
"All you want is to tell me how much I'm messing things up and I don't wanna hear it. If he's going, I'm going with him. And you can't kill him just for being my friend." Frank didn't care about any of that or what his father might want to say to him right then. "Go talk to Zacky. I bet he'll care enough to listen to whatever you want to say.
"I can kill him for whatever reason I want to," he reminded. "I'm the devil and I can damn well do what I please. Now I'll give you one more chance to spare your friend here. Are you going to stay and hear what I have to say, or are you going to kill your friend? I promise, you can't bring that one back as a zombie."
Frankie sighed, reaching up to rub at his forehead. He was starting to get a serious headache and doubted it would go away any time soon. "Fine. Let him go and I'll stay," he finally muttered. As much as he didn't care about most people, getting Judas hurt or killed was definitely not something he wanted to do.
Lucifer snapped his fingers and the flames vanished. "Go now, Judas," he said, keeping his eyes on Frankie. Judas rubbed his arm, looking back and forth between the two before leaving the room with his head down. One day he was going to teach Satan a lesson. He just didn't know how or when. When Judas was gone, Lucifer looked at his son. "I wanted to talk to you about your brother," he said, looking him up and down. "You two are bickering way too much."
Frank didn't even look up to watch Judas go. He just wanted to get the rest of this conversation over with so he could leave really. So when Lucifer started in about him and Zacky arguing, he just shrugged. "It's how we always are. Always have been too," he muttered. He, for one, liked the relationship he had with his twin. Sure they teased the hell out of each other, but that's just how they were.
Lucifer sighed. "It's one thing when you two are bickering in private but a whole other when you splash it around for everyone to see. And what's this fighting about who I love more? Are you wondering who's going to get the throne when I'm finished or is this about who came out first again?"
"We always fight like that. It doesn't mean shit or matter who is around to see it," he replied. There wasn't anything real to it the vast majority of the time. "It doesn't even matter about the throne anyway. Not like you're gonna die or anything so who cares?"
"What makes you think I won't die?" he asked him seriously, crossing his arms over his chest. "Do you take that much for granted? You never know when I could be....called away from my duties. I'd like to think one of you are mature enough to take over."
Frank just shook his head. "She wouldn't let you," he said simply. He knew better than to even think that might happen. "Give it all to Zacky then. Or one of the other demons you like so much." He didn't really care about all that right then, but knew better than to say so.
"Fine," Lucifer said, shrugging his shoulders and turning to scoop up the dog. "You gonna give up all the power of hell because I don't like your friend. I swear, he's two heads taller than you. What do you do? Climb him like he's a mountain?" He looked disgusted. "Do you want to know why your mother and I disapprove of him?" he asked seriously. "He's a betrayer. He betrayed his best friend thousands of years ago to save his own hide. He didn't have to. Like all others, he was given free will. What makes you think he won't do it to you?"
"I already know why you don't like him and it's got nothing to do with how tall he is," Frank muttered. He'd known who and what Judas was for as long as he could remember and it didn't really make that much difference. "He's been my best friend for five centuries now. If he was going to betray me, don't you think he's had more than enough time to do it already?" he asked before turning to look at the door again. "Can I go now?"
"Get the fuck out of here." he growled, still holding the dog. "Don't come back until I call for you again, and that will be a long time from now. I hereby strip you of your powers. See if pouting to mommy will help get them back. If she'll answer your prayers."
Frank nodded slightly, turning and walking towards the door without a word. Just before walking out though, he turned and looked back at his father. "You can't take away what she gave me. You don't have the power."
Lucifer looked at him, his eyes narrowed dangerously. "Now you really shouldn't have done that." He said. He was Satan, the king of Hell, and he knew how to make one suffer. "But you do make a good point. I can't take away what she gave you. But she gave me my sons, and she gave me your best friend. Those I can do what I want with."
"You've already dismissed me, remember? Why would I stay now? It's not like you want me here anymore than I want to stay right now." He wasn't all that worried about the threat really even if he probably should be. No one could make him suffer more than his father and he knew it. "At least I can tell Zacky he was right whenever I see him again."
Lucifer watched him, and slowly he smiled. "Have a good day, my son," he said, and there was something more than menacing in his words. "Go play with your friend while you still can." He turned his back on him and went to his desk, picking up a sterling silver letter opener and driving it down into the desk. Somewhere, someone was feeling the pain of the blade pierce his flesh, and this gave Lucifer a sick satisfaction.
Frank shook his head and looked back at his father one last time. "Don't tell me what to do. You don't get that power anymore either," he said before finally leaving. He didn't go straight home though. Instead he headed for the surface and just wandered around.
