"Sorry Victor, as much as I would like to get these kids immediately home, we have to stop at the police department here first and file a report. If we don't, then we're leaving the scene of a crime."
"Not to mention we still have to, you know, actually get out of this building first." I added as I walked over to a different door than the one the wannabe demon summoners had used. Pushing it open only slightly I peered through the crack and could see the door led to the lobby where we first entered the building.
Frowning I tried to figure out with all our running around how we ended back down on the first floor as it didn't seem logical but then shrugged. In any case here was the entrance and exit to the building and...
The doorway out was blocked by crawling, slithering chains. The kind that belonged to the Cenobites and mostly definitely not the kind you wanted to touch or be anywhere near.
"Scythia shit!" I cursed. Grimacing I looked back to see if any of the kids had heard me use a bad word. Of course the only one close enough to have heard it had to be Hilary.
"Don't pick up on my bad language." I warned the grinning child.
"Oh let me guess." Came from Miki. "That way is blocked by something that'll rip us apart if we go that way?"
I bit my lip and gave a brief nod.
"Well there has to be a back entrance, or a side entrance or something around here!" I muttered angrily and marching back past the group I tried to decide where we should go to next.
Totally exhausted and out of the corner of my eye seeing the boys and girls headed my way again, no doubt to climb me like a telephone pole, I sighed and leaned against the wall...
Only to have the wall behind me swing open and dump me into an alley. OUTSIDE THE BUILDING!
Leaping to my feet, I dove back to the door and caught it before the concealed door could swing shut and probably lock and held it open. "Come on everyone! We are so out of here!"
We all breathed a sigh of relief as we walked around the building to the front to see a large angry group of teens lined up outside waiting to get in to the sealed building and not knowing why they couldn't.
"So should one of us stay here while the rest go get the police?" I asked. "I don't want to be accused of leaving the scene of a crime."
Suddenly there was a cracking howling noise and slowly the building in front of us began to crumble and implode inward until it was sucked into a tiny black hole and with a whoosh, the entire building was gone leaving an empty lot, a group of confused teens and our group.
