In the midst of the madness and confusion going on I spotted a sword swallower holding a flaming sword up, about to put it down his throat. He was concentrating so intensely on his task he hadn't even noticed that his audience had run off screaming or he was surrounded by gross little creatures.
Fortunately for him, but not so fortunately for me and my group, Hilary's outraged scream had attracted the attention of the creatures and they were turning away from the showman and towards us.
Quickly stepping forward I boldly pulled the sword from the man's grasp and as one of the creatures leapt at me I swung the blade cutting the thing in half. Unfortunately, the swing unbalanced the little girl sitting in my arm and she started to fall, right into the arms of more of the obnoxious little monsters gathering at my feet.
"You ain't touching one of my kids!" I snarled as I swept out a leg bowling the creatures out of the way and snagging the falling child just before her head could come in contact with the ground.
"That was....AWESOME!" Hilary shouted as I juggled the kids to return the girl that had fallen back to her place sitting in the crook of my arm.
Not being able to hang on to the sword as I did my positioning I watched as Hilary raced to pick it up and acting like an advanced scout she swung it madly back and forth clearing us a path to the Funhouse.
Diving through the doors I slammed them shut and leaned on them shutting off the screams and cries of the other people and finally looking up saw...
Rows and rows of funhouse mirrors.
"Oh for crying out loud. What is it with humans and mirrors?!" I groaned in exasperation.
