Susan meanwhile was leading the kids through a kind of maintenance tunnel between rooms in the 'haunted' amusement attraction. She was surprised but grateful that the dog creatures and Cenobites she had left behind for some reason chose to not follow her into the tunnel.
What was their game? With Cenobites you could never be sure. They were totally evil but a kind of lawful evil in that they always had their own agenda and if you weren't part of it, they most of the time would just ignore you, well unless you got in their way.
Course they had stolen her portal generator from her so they must want her and Victor to hang around, but why? Where they after the kids?
Susan paused for a moment in the tunnel but then shrugged. If they were after her kids then why weren't they chasing her now? There was just no second guessing a Cenobite.
"We're in a tunnel of Hell." One of the remaining little boys sobbed.
"We are not in a tunnel of Hell, trust me. I've been to Hell and this is too clean for there." I replied distractedly.
Seeing a skeleton leaning against the wall and feeling the kids starting to pull away I reached out and checked the skeleton and found it was a complete fake. Pulling the arm bone off of it I showed the kids.
"See? It says made in China. You kids must agree that real bones would not have that on it, right?"
The kids nodded their heads and I could see their confidence building.
Finally seeing another sliding door, I slid it open and to my surprise found Victor and Hilary in a room.
Just as I and the kids walked in, A large dog creature and a smaller one shaking their heads rose to their feet and turned towards Hilary and Victor.
Whistling I drew the dogs' attention. Raising the arm bone which I was still carrying I waved it in the air.
"Want a bone doggies?" I called and as the dogs turned their attention to me I waved the bone one more time and then threw it though the open sliding door.
The dogs ran past me and the kids without a second glance as they concentrated on the bone treat. I quickly slid the door back into place.
I then ran over to Hilary to check her.
"Victor!" I frowned at him. "Hilary has cuts on her hands. What have you been letting her do?"
