Theo was having an extremely unproductive library session this afternoon, and no doubt about THAT. What with one quarter of the castle being Ravenclaws, she had never been so let down; the library was her emergency go-to socializing locale! Yes: when the common room is empty, the pitch is deserted and the corridors are suspsiciously lacking in trouble-makers or wee lost ones, turn to the library, children, and you will never be disappointed.
Because just when she was about to give up on the very not exciting activity of people watching in a room slightly lacking in people, Tacey joined her. "Hey," she beamed back at the girl, a very interesting sort of Ravenclaw indeed. Theo considered "what are you up to" to be a very standard question when joining someone, and she was honestly very interested in what TACEY was doing there. Theo couldn't recall ever having seen her in the library, since the first time they met.
She waved her hand around vaguely, in a way which she hoped clearly said "being bored in the library", because Tacey had already pressed on. She was slightly stunned at the girl's next statement, and sat staring with her mouth slightly open and her eyes a little glazed over for a moment while it sunk in that someone was asking permission to draw her.
And would stalk her if she said no? Is that what Tacey had just said? Feeling SURE she was missing something now, Theo blinked and tried to focus as the Ravenclaw added something or other about James (which James?) and then said she wanted to sketch odd looking people. Theo grinned broadly, and resisted the urge to laugh. Truth be told, she was much more comfortable being called odd looking than being told her hair was so pretty it made people want to draw her.
Said hair was currently, as it usually was, hanging haphazhardly around her face in braided pigtails. Theo pushed aside her feelings of self consciousness and took a moment to appear to consider Tacey's announcement. The last little bit about her having a good temperment had given her an idea, because it sounded like a bribe.
"You want to sketch me, hmmm," she said thoughtfully. "Well, now, I don't know. In the past everytime someone has drawn me" - as far as Theo could recall, the only person to ever draw her had been HER, between the ages of 4 and 8 - "the hair has always been a disappointment, you know?" She grabbed one of her pigtails and waggled the end of it at Tacey. "Either bright orange, or fire engine red." Theo dropped her hair and attempted to squint at the other girl suspiciously through her smiley eyes. "How do I know you won't only lead me to more disappointment and heartbreak and heartbreaking disappointment, then?"
