"Yeah. James is brill." Sirius replied, flashing her a smile. "The school brooms are rather rubbish, but like I said, they're fine. S'just annoying during matches when you've got those Slytherin tossers zipping around on faster brooms thinking that makes them better than us." he said, looking very disgruntled. "Like talent doesn't matter at all so long as your parents can buy you a fancy new broom. Rubbish." Really. They were idiots. And most of them had it out for him for 'disgracing the Black family name.' He had the Potters though so he was fine.
He didn't connect the flinch to Peter though. He connected it to Remus and as soon as he did, he felt sick. So she did know. That must be it. She knew, but how she knew - how she came to find out - that was unclear. And she flinched. That wasn't good. Sirius couldn't ever imagine flinching at Remus's name. Making a snap decision, he decided befriend her and keep an eye on her, rather than outcast her and risk her telling someone. He still paled a little, his mind scrambling to try and list all the ways to keep Remus's secret a secret. He had nearly blown it last year by being a complete and utter idiot. He could at least do this for him now. "Most people are afraid of heights." Sirius replied, "But I think they're rather brilliant - especially on a broom. I think flying is the closest thing to true freedom really." and he hadn't had a lot of that until this summer. Not a lot at all.
