The uncomfortable, empty feeling that had been plaguing Ash hadn't gotten any better over the past couple of days, and it had seemed to come to a head today in the form of bad luck. Everything went wrong from the moment she woke up, starting with probably one of the worst headaches she'd had in a while. And because of that, her concentration was fucked.
In explosives, she'd scared another of the recruits with her "daydreams" to the point that they would have set the facility on fire if they were working with live materials (they were in their first year--no way would they let anyone but a virtuoso at the real stuff yet). She'd been asked to leave etiquette lessons because she couldn't get the damned things under control, surprising both herself and Lucas--normally she was at least able to wrestle them down. Some time meditating and doing yoga through lunch--plus a visit for ibuprofen or something at the infirmary--had appeared to help and field techniques had gone well... but then in weapons it had all gone to crap again and a fucking bear had launched itself at her sparring partner. Scared to death--even if it wasn't real and they knew it, it looked real--the other recruit swung their bowstaff wide in an attempt to swat the bear away. Instead, they cracked it across Ash's shoulder.
Dinner... she just avoided dinner. Her headache was back, the pain radiating up from her shoulder, and it was too much to deal with, being stared at after possibly her worst day ever. Instead Ash had retreated to the most isolated hallway she could find so her mind could go crazy without her dealing with people. She wasn't so damaged she needed healing, at least... but everything seemed completely screwed up. Arms clamped over her head where she hid, she was oblivious to the veritable chaos of illusions around her. From another bear (wearing a clown's hat, now) to her signature Burmese cat, bloody rain, pink geese, balloons that were being shot by an invisible source. No noise... never noise. But the sight was definitely bizarre, and kept shifting around constantly.
