Who: Kingsley and Henley When: Thursday afternoon Where: Kingsley's office What: making Henley an offer he can't refuse ;) Rating: low Status: closed/incomplete
Kingsley handled each new recruit differently. Some were brought to his office immediately, others were given a bit of time to adjust to their surroundings. Some never even met Kingsley, but instead learned of their options from another staff member. There were many things to consider when deciding how and when this meeting would be handled. A delay would help in Henley's case. The young man had a great many psychological problems, and he was unlikely to react well to force and intimidation.. especially coming from a man. It would do him good to spend a few days simply resting and getting to know his surroundings. It would also be nice to allow him some time with his brother. But one thing Kingsley could not agree to was Holton's presence in this meeting. A potential recruit had to make the decision on his or her own.
Before summoning Henley, Kingsley made sure all the necessary paperwork was ready. All recruits signed a contract. They all received an implant as well, but that would be handled by the medical staff. Kingsley was a lawyer. He liked paperwork. He was sitting behind a great deal of it when Henley was escorted into his office. Kingsley rose to his feet though, a polite, small smile on his face. He outstretched his hand across the desk as well. "Welcome, Mister Knox. Pleasure to finally meet you." His accent, while not as thick as it had been as a child, was still distinctively British and quite posh. He sounded like a man of means. He had a strong handshake as well, but it wasn't crushing. Firm and purposeful. And he kept eye contact.
