"No." The finality with which he said that one word was sharp and heavy.
"C'mon, mate," the little, weedy man, pleaded. "Your popularity has taken a hit since your last scuffle. Women like a bad boy, yes, but not one that'll land himself in Azkaban courtesy of drunken stupors!"
Marcus' eyes narrowed. There was an audible growl. "I don't care about that."
"You don't? You should! Need I remind you that your payout is directly proportional to the arses you put in those seats? My payout is dependent on that, too! Don't you like having the latest, greatest brooms, equipment and houses galleon can buy?"
Marcus stared his agent down, dark eyes narrowed into reptilian-like slits that caused the agent to whither and take a step backwards. The chaser caught the other man, and silently fisted the front of the little man's shirt, lifting him right up off the floor until the two were eye level. The agent squeaked, a scared mouse, when Marcus bared his newly perfect teeth (Were those fangs? No, of course not! Right?).
"Marcus! Mate! Let's think this through--"
The Slytherin interrupted his agent's pleading. He couldn't deny that the money was good and the more popular he was, the more his position within the Falcons was secure. "What do I have to do?" Marcus snarled the question.
The agent's smile was unsteady, too bright, too perky, betraying his uneasiness, thankful that he hadn't received a fist to the nose. Again. "I've already told you, Marcus…Dancing with Wizards are gagging to have you. Dance, Marcus. Dance!"
Marcus let go of the man's shirt, causing the agent to stumble backwards, hand smoothing his now wrinkled shirt. "Fine." Marcus blew out a sharp breath.
"Excellent! You won't regret this!"
"Oh, I know I won't, but you might." It was a promise Marcus intended to keep, and judging by the way his agent's face blanched, the man knew it to be true.
