"I usually apparate," Zach admitted, squinting up into the sun. "But I didn't feel up to it today, and didn't fancy splinching m'self."
He turned to look at Susan. "Especially as you're not at Mungoe's today."
Zach realized he probably shouldn't have said he wasn't up to apparation, because that would invite questions why, but it was too late to retract the statement. He'd have to come up with a valid excuse.
"Nimbus is fine trusting me with the design, yeah? But trusting me with actual people is probably a huge mistake on their part. They just know people are nosy about what I've been up to. It's publicity." He sighed. "But if I want to do one, I've got to do the other."
Fidgeting with his collar again, Zach cast a baleful look. "I'm hating every second of wearing this. Can't breathe. And it feels like I'm wearing a costume." Zach had stopped wearing a tie the moment he'd left Hogwarts. He didn't welcome its return. "And it's too warm out for it."
He realised he was complaining an awful lot, so he shrugged, his hand working its way round to the back of his neck. "I'm fine. Considering." He offered Susan a lopsided smile. "What are you up to today?"
