Theodore gave her a few minutes and settled himself on the stool, hooking one foot on the metal foot rest along the bottom of the bar. It both amused and intrigued him that she remembered their various interludes in sixth year so well. He remembered them too, but he'd always figured she'd moved on and forgotten.
After a few moments, he picked up one of the shots, tipped it back and set the glass upside down on the bar. Then with careful precision he stretched out his hand and then brought his finger to his nose, tapping it.
"Of all the things we did together, I don't recall us ever having drinking games. I'll admit I didn't know you had a taste for whiskey." He smiled. "But I also didn't think I had a taste for it until I ended up where I did."
Tilting his head, Theodore reached out and tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. It was difficult to reconcile the friend sitting beside him with the passionate girl he remembered and cared for. He did what he could, but it was a struggle sometimes.
"So what is keeping you in England these days? No fresh desire to travel and go on adventure?"
