She gave him a wide smile and reached to the middle of the table, stabbing a few calamari rings with her fork. She popped them into her mouth, savouring the taste and then returned to her crabcakes. This was definitely a restaurant she was going to come back to again with Neville. She was certain he'd like this place.
Pausing a moment, Lavender thought about his question. There had been a few weeks after that battle where things could have gone differently. She could have died. She could have let this bite define her life. But she'd decided that nothing was going to change.
Except for the things that had.
"I wouldn't exactly call it a werewolf attack. It wasn't a full moon and Greyback doesn't deserve the infamy." She sipped her drink. "I'm glad no one talks about it much. 'Poor Lavender Brown and that attack. Whatever will she do now that she's all scarred?' Well I did do something. I took control of the stories."
Finishing off her appetizer, Lavender pushed her plate aside. "Do people ask you why you weren't there?"
