Nick still wasn't fond of this hell hole they were all stuck in. He knew that everyone had lives back home, but he was blaming himself for not finding a way to get him and Elena back. Jeremy and the pack needed them, and he felt like he was letting everyone down. He should be looking out for Elena....that was his job with Clay not here. Of course the fact that she could take care of herself rarely entered his mind. For him that fact was beside the point. He had been looking for a way to get them home ever since they arrived, and he had been trying to keep an eye on Elena. He was pretty much wore out at this point. He hadn't really slept in days. He was beyond exhausted, but he refused to sleep....not now. He had to keep looking for a way home.
He was out on another fact finding mission. He was moving up and down the beach, trying to find another cave that might lead to some passage out of there. Finally he decided a break might not kill him. So, he sat down on the beach. As soon as his butt hit the sand he wound up laying back and falling asleep.
