WHO: Augustus Rookwood and (NPC) Kavita WHAT: Augustus shows up with plans against an Order member but ends up finding her flatmate instead. WHERE: Alice and Kavita's flat WHEN: Wednesday June 25, night WARNINGS: Breaking and entering, violence and threats. One shot.
The plan was supposed to be simple. He'd found her address easily enough; the widow witch who worked in human resources loved attention of any kind, and she was more than happy to fish out an address for his cousin, who just wanted to owl some flowers to the lovely young woman he hadn't worked up the nerve to speak to just yet. Doris didn't want to burst his bubble, but she didn't now how successful the flowers would be: rumour had it Alice had an in-office beau.
Augustus, of course, didn't actually care about any of that. The question he should have been asking was whether Alice was taking any time off work or if she was planning a vactation. He didn't think tho ask that kind of question, of course.
So there he was, having successfully spelled his way into the flat, encountering a woman who was certainly not Alice Summerby. Too bad for her, really.
His first truly active solo assignment as a Death Eater and already it was going to pot. This was not good. He didn't kill the girl out right; that would have been a rash decision there was no coming back from. Beyond that, he'd never actually killed a human being before, and he wasn't going to start with some death that would have no meaning to the cause. Still, he had to figure out something to do with her.
She waited, terrified, curled up on the floor, a silencing charm keeping her from screaming for help and her hands and feet bound by a spell while he pondered his situation.
"It's funny, this really has got shit to do with you, eh, Kavita," he said, reading her name off an envelope sitting on the table. "You're just crap at picking flatmates is all. Bad luck on your end. Now, if I were one of my more unscrupulous colleagues, you'd probably be dead by now." The girl whimpered, and Augustus rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up, will you? I'm not going to kill you. But you do present a very real dilemma."
It surprised him, how much he was enjoying this. The absolute power he had over this person in front of him--it gave him a real rush. The kind he never felt in his very routine life. This mask, this power...he could see why so many had been consumed into it.
"Boring way to go is to rob a few things, put a charm on your memory and make it look like a simple break-in. But where's the fun in that?" He mused another moment. "Abduction's an option, I suppose. Do you have any ex-boyfriends who might hold a grudge? Eh, nevermind. I know exactly how you can be of use to me. Besides, I've needed work on my Imperius charm."
