RP: Gideon & Alastor
Who: Gideon, Alastor
When: 26 December, 2030
Where: The Hogs' Head
What: Old frenemies catch up.
Gideon had set up a meeting at the Hogs' Head with a contact who had a lead on some old texts with references to obscure curses used by a cult of Dark Wizards in the Dark Ages. He was sure there were copies in old libraries spread across the country, but since he couldn't access those, he was chasing down any other leads he could find. This particular gentleman smelled rank enough that Gideon had wondered if he was decomposing as they sat there, but had ended up being more helpful than expected and Gideon had come away from the meeting with one of the texts, though half the pages were nearly illegible. He hoped that after some restoration spells, it would be easier to read through. They didn't need to find a cure for the curses on Delphine now, but they needed to find the perpetrators, and this might get them a step closer.
He was preparing to leave when he caught sight of a familiar face in the dark corner of the pub, the spot with the best vantage point of all the windows and exits, not to mention the patrons. He grinned a little, then made his way over, dropping into the seat across from Moody, even though sitting with his back to the crowd made his neck itch unpleasantly. Moody wasn't the only one with finely tuned instincts, but he trusted the cantankerous bastard to have his back if need be.
"Mind some company?" It was a rhetorical question, since Gideon was already settling into the table and had gestured to the barman to bring him another firewhiskey. "So, I take it from the rumor mill at the office that you won't be signing back up with the Department?" Moody's dramatic meeting with Potter had still been the talk of the office after the holiday. "You sure do know how to win friends, Alastor."
