Lily/Remus
"We should probably stop meeting like this," Remus teased, as they nearly collided for the second time that week. He gave her one of the warm smiles he reserved for people he actually liked and wasn't just being friendly with to keep at bay. After their conversation at the Broomsticks earlier that week, he had been looking forward to hearing her play. So, when Jamie asked if he'd want to go to the party with him -- Remus suspected his friend wanted a bit of back-up -- Remus had agreed easily.
It didn't seem to be much different from some of the parties in Gryffindor tower in the seventies...just on a larger scale. All of which meant it wasn't really his kind of scene. But, he wasn't going to die if he spent a little bit of time there. He had a bottle of beer in one hand, opened, -- spelled to reject anyone trying to sneak something in while he wasn't looking, -- that was mainly a prop and would likely be nursed the entire time he was there. He'd brushed up on a couple charms he'd created to help mute his perception of sound a bit so he could function in loud areas when he was younger.
And, as luck would have it, the one person other than Jamie he definitely wanted to see while they were there, had just happened to walk into him. "I like the sound, the juxtaposition of the more melodic through line with the driving pace of the underlying chords works very well, particular on the verse."
