"Except if I used that tactic, father would kill me and I suspect baiting him works best when you went to school with him," Scorpius said, shaking his head at how bright Blaise's smile was. Sometimes, the man acted like a teenager. "You'd get reassigned in eight minutes although you're lucky, you and Lisa can gossip all evening." Or do other things but if they were doing those, Scorpius most certainly didn't want to know. He'd seen how people reacted around Tom and Lucas's relationship not being traditional enough to know that if Blaise wasn't being monogamous, he didn't want to know about it so he didn't have to react to it.
"Mmm, partially, although I would have found something you'd love. I just like buying presents, it's fun to work out something thoughtful and different." His eyes followed Blaise's movements and he looked back up, not embarrassed in the slightest by being caught staring. "It turns out that at times I can be useful. It's not that I can't do things, it's more that I haven't really explored much that isn't Quidditch since school and even from sixth year, I was pretty sure I was going to be good enough to play at League level. I was pretty good at Transfiguration."
