RP: Emil/Everett
Who: Emil/Everett
When: 17th February
Where: their flat
What: Emil receives a letter from home
Emil was starting to figure out why people had gotten so complacent. At home, you were working two and three cases at a time, never really resting. Here, they had finished their one major case and there was... nothing. Sure he was interrogating Archibald, mostly to show others his technics, but when it came to real information, things that he wanted to be sure of and didn't have to go to trial, like the murders from the 19th century, he went in alone and let go of his magic until Archibald was ready to tell him anything and everything he wanted to know.
Of course that meant that his days were also suddenly very regular, in with everyone else and out with everyone else. He had even time at lunch to get cake and champage to have it delivered to Alec.
Getting home early left him with plenty of time to prepare dinner. Tonight, though he had time for something else: a letter. His mother, being fond of reminding him just how important she was, had sent the letter through official channels and had been delivered to him at work. Emil knew better than to read it there. He knew it wouldn't make him happy, but would frustrate him to no end, and so he waited until he was home and food was cooking. A good thing too or he might have forgotten all about food.
When Everett came upstairs, the stove was already off with charms to keep the food warm. Emil was sitting on the couch and when his boyfriend came up, he simply handed him the letter. "It is from my mother. She writes to congratulate me about the arrest and the success of the taskforce. She has heard of how well I have become accustomed to this country, which is a good thing for a Veela, but not a skill I need as a man, as such she has arragned for me to return home and work there until the engagemene is announced. The Ministry will terminate the arrangement I have here at the end of the month to give me time to testify at the trial."
