First I apologise for the late reply. I would have responded earlier, only that I was busy with work. As a writer (well...somewhat or a writer) myself, I recognise that feedback is one of the greatest pleasures and motivations of a writer, and I always try to leave some form of feedback for my fellow writers.
Anyway, I thought I'd share my thoughts with you, if it's still ok?
Seriously, I was squicked. The part about the rat really made my skin crawl. I have to confess I was curious as to why these people were doing the things that they did. I mean, what do they get out of it? Is it a job of some kind (since they're dead, right?) But why do it?
And there's also the question of what they are. I assume that zombies and vampires are different in your verse, but I'm not seeing the real difference as of yet (hence the curiosity).
I have to say, though, what really intrigues me is the beginnings of these characters. Just how did they become like that?
I don't know if you're going to keep writing this, but I hope so, as it definitely piques my interest (at this stage, at any rate).
