First meeting
A failed prompt for 50episodes. Originally meant to be prompt 6 in table 1, it wound up as a random scene that didn't fit anywhere.
While he had been under strict orders to act as their medic until he received notice to the contrary, his orders had not included mingling or maintaining friendly relations with them. Miura consequently decided to rise early to clear out before any of them woke.
It had begun well. The wash area had been his to claim and he had the cookery to himself. He even managed to enter the empty dining area and get the coveted table nearest the window in the furthest, more obscure corner of the room, and had a chance to leisurely savour his breakfast amidst the melodious twittering of the birds in tree beyond.
In fact, everything had gone without a hitch, and Miura was thoroughly enjoying himself. That is, until he heard footsteps.
Damn, he thought sourly. He had forgotten himself, and set too leisurely a pace. Glancing down at his plate, he found it still laden with half of the wrap that he had made.
Stupid, stupid, fool, he thought sourly as he began eating more quickly. He didn't yet know who it was, but it didn't sound like there were too many of them. Maybe he would be able to finish?
Luck was not on his side, however. Before he could wolf down the rest of his food, the other had plonked himself happily on the seat opposite, yakking about how early it was and how he hadn't expected anyone to be in quite that early.
"And man, I thought I was the earliest!" he finally concluded as he looked over at Miura, as if expecting a response of some kind. And to be fair, he did get a response, though it probably wasn't what he had been expecting.
"I'm done," Miura said abruptly. And picking up his empty plate and glass, he left the baffled Aikawa behind.
