08:58 pm [runespoor7] [Link]	Batman would call this Proof #2681 that Gotham Is Too Much For Superman To Handle Mark Waid's run on The Brave and the Bold was pretty, pretty crack that gave us some truly unforgettable team-ups. In The Brave and the Bold #16, the team-up is Superman and Catwoman, and it is awesome. The story takes place in the loose continuity of "a few years ago", so you're encouraged not to nitpick at the continuity too much and just relax and enjoy the crack. 07:54 am [kamino_neko] [Link]	One more page from Gotham City Sirens My reasons for posting this page are twofold....firstly, to illustrate a point I made in the last Gotham City Sirens post about the way the artist draws faces - specifically, the blandness of the female faces, and relative cartooniness of the male faces. Secondly...I'm a Riddler fan, who's been rather....distressed by his recent jobbing. For everyone. Former victims, supposed friends...it's one thing to have the Bat get one over on him, but Eddie's played the chump for everyone pretty constantly for a couple years, and this...bugs me. Eddie finally manages to get some back in GCS. Sort of. 09:25 pm [jarodrussell] [Link]	Perfect Moment: Catwoman #70 I haven't read Catwoman since the 90's, when she had the purple costume and a rack that made Peej's look modest, but when the following page was posted to the old SD, this became my third favorite comic page ever (second favorite Batman page). I forget who scanned this, but my thanks to them for it. ( From Catwoman #70... ) I've kind of kept an eye out to see if this was posted earlier, but never saw it. Even for Greg Land, this is a bad cover. Those who haven't seen on the trade or the first time it was printed with #67, I'm not posting it, I'm not linking it, I'm not subjecting you to it. If you want to see it, it'll have to be on your own time by your own decision. I'm just here to talk about it. I'd originally decided to tear it off and burn it, but I don't keep matches anymore since I quit smoking a few weeks ago. 05:57 pm [bluefall] [Link]	The Many Faces of Barbara Minerva, part 6 (Versus Catwoman) And we're back; this time with an installment so ludicrous I can't even work up any real ire for it. I'm just left shaking my head in depressed bemusement, wondering how it all went so wrong. I mean, it's not that getting Cheetah a little cross-DCU exposure is a bad thing in principle, and even the basic formula of "catwoman + cat woman = double the feline fun" does seem sensible at first, cursory glance. Enough, even, that we've seen it not once, not twice, but three times with this incarnation of Cheetah at least - very impressive considering that a) Selina's not even remotely connected to Wondy, b) she's not even really exactly a hero and c) barring Injustice-type "everyone and their mother who was ever a bad guy is there" crossovers, her fights with Selina are the only times Cheetah's ever gotten coverage outside Diana's book. Ever. Of course, "cursory glance" is a pretty pathetic thing to hang a story on, and it all falls apart like a house of oversize novelty cards after the Batmobile crashes into them the second you take even a fractionally deeper look at the characters involved. But Pfeifer and Loebs never let continuity or consistent characterization stop them before, and dammit, they aren't about to now. ( I think I need someone to draw me a picture of Wolverine biting Sabertooth's lip like that. Call it a thought experiment. ) Next up, we find out why Cheetah's wearing stupid pants, with post-ICk JLA and v3 WONDER WOMAN. Yeah, I know. But hey, at least there's pretty Dodson art. 07:01 pm [kagome654] [Link]	Green Lantern/Superman: Legend of the Green Flame So...I had no idea Neil Gaiman wrote a Green Lantern story. Apparently the tale has a pretty interesting history ('How do you lose a Neil Gaiman script?'- Mark Waid). It's a pretty decent story, with a lot of talented artists attached (plus cameos by Deadman, The Phantom Stranger* and Selina Kyle). ( Booster isn't the only one who accidentally sends friends to Hell ) Due to certain constraints the Phantom Stranger may not appear as advertised.
