FINALLY it's explained, sort of, where all these energies originated. Now what I want to know is who built some of the batteries. Like the orange one.

Truly, Geoff Johns writes like a story conference. Sometimes he'll have good ideas for character motivation and suchlike...but rather than have characters talking to each other like people and revealing their personality through their actions, they just stand there and exposit motivations at one another.

It says a lot about the current Dr Light that Hal doesn't mention her after specifically requesting light-wielding heroes. He probably thought of her, then thought "Nahh...too obnoxious".

Carol/Hal, Barry/Iris and Barry/Hal bromance. Squee!

Too bad that they didn't explain why the Sapphires had to turn in their gems for rings.

Fifty-seven channels and nothing on...

They already did, in Green Lantern #20. The gems possess too much power over the host. The Rings are more manageable.

Gems were too out of control, overcoming the weilder, as the gem took attempted to take over the Zamoran queen.

Wouldn't it be great if it was Dove?

Although I don't think the white light is going to be contained or managed by a ring. It's more primal than that. It's probably, like Indigo said, going to take a member of every Corps to put their lights together and OH SHIT THIS IS RAINBOW FUCKING BRITE.

My internet started working again in the middle of reading this, so I've been stuck with it flipped to the third scan for the last half-hour.
But aw yeah Indigos! I'm just a little wary of the lack-of-individuality bit.

"You have personal connections to the most powerful members of the five remaining corps."

Violet - Carol Ferris
Blue - Ganthet
Yellow - Sinestro/Parallax
Red - ???
Orange - ...

I don't remember Hal and Larfleeze doing much connecting while he had the Orange lantern.

Also, has Hal gone through a Violet ring phase yet?

Thank you, Barry, for your services in bringing to light and mediating Hal's incredible self-centered douchebaggery. Maybe you do have something to offer the DCU alive, after all.

...That aside, I have the strangest feeling I've seen this plot before. Possibly in Sailor Moon. And frankly, it would be worth the inevitable Hal-saves-the-world-because-it's-all-about-him if he ended up in a pretty pretty princess dress wielding the combined power of the spectrum against the forces of darkness. Mostly because I am engaged in a constant war against Hal's dignity.

My new theory:

we get a scenario involving a member from each lantern core essentially resulting in "WHEN YOUR POWERS COMBINE, I AM THE WHITE LANTERN!"

no longer Hal or Dove saves the day...so I'm guessing Hal, sinestro, atrocious, Larfleeze, Saint Walker, Carol Ferris, and this one

On the one hand I like the "rings are wearing the dead" bit because I'm sick of good guys being controlled. On the other hand it hurts the non-resurrection of Don Hall and means that we're not likely to see any Black Lanterns turned good.

In GLC Guy seemed to successfully destroy the fly Black Lantern. At least we didn't see it get put back together. I wonder if that's cause he was channeling rage with his will powered weapon?

And I'm still hoping that blue ring that's flying around finds Kyle.

What if they said "When your powers combine, I'm the White Lantern".

Original eh?

Anyway. Damn that's long exposition there.

The combining of the Corps into white light was so called out by most of us. I bit obvious, but the trick is how they will actually accomplish this.

Did they explain why she killed that GL guy back in the Tale of the Corps?
