Bigger Karma Houdini: This or Norman Osborne's "It Was Skrulls" defense?

I don't think Norman blamed his actions on the Skrulls.

Norman's the bigger Karma Houdini. Lex at least gets charged with his crimes and they attempt to convict, but he gets out of it with legal wrangling and false evidence. Norman openly commits crimes and no one cares because the civilian population in the Marvel Universe is a bunch of morons.

And on his way out of the courthouse, Luthor kicked a puppy, took candy from a baby, and didn't wash his hands after using the bathroom.

'cause he's evil.

I just rewatched The Great Brain Robbery yesterday!
Best. Episode. Ever!

MY BRAIN!

Wouldn't it be interesting to have Lex go through a life style similar TMNT Baxter Stockman? They did have him as a brain-jar in Generations III, but I was think like a gnarly brain cyborg thing he had before Fast Forward...

"Only I have the brains to rule Metropolis!"

Seriously though, this brings up a hwole bunch of questions on goings on in the DCU courtrooms. They would have to set up so many investigations into how clones works for trials to work ever again. Why didn't the judge ask if the clone was just made?

Because, after living some 50 years with superhumans and their wackiness, no one would ever thing to verify this sort of crap. They just pass the buck and pretend that this is the first time they've heard of something like this.

How incredibly lazy. No wonder supervillains go free all the time.

The judge ordered the clone turned over to S.T.A.R. Labs so they could do SCIENCE on it, but that's the most he could do. What Luthor is doing is providing "reasonable doubt" which is what you don't want to have when trying to convict someone.

This plays like a serious episode of Harvey Birdman.

However fishy this may seem, how'd the hell did Luthor know he'd be able to pull it off a second time right after Infinite Crisis.

The question I would have asked myself, were I a juror, would be whether or not this lunatic in the witness box was even capable of doing the things that Luthor was accused of? I mean, the guy's screaming and gibbering and drooling and ranting and raving, and generally acting like someone who belongs in a booby hatch. I've heard of mad scientists, but not THIS mad - that guy looks like he barely has the self-control necessary to keep from wetting his pants, let alone committing the level of crimes of which he's being accused. Sure, he may have been 'working under the direction of Happersen', but come ON - you'd still need a brain in half-workable condition to follow orders like that. As far as I'm concerned, it's a very weak defense.
A nice Luthor moment at the end, though, with him casually tormenting a guy who thought he actually WAS serving the cause of justice.

I guess the assumption would be the clone had deteriorated since then.

I suppose. Still, I'm guessing there'd be some heated conversations while the jurors were deliberating.
