Time and again, another reason why the DCAU trumps all others.
Thank you.
And some pics of sheer awesomeness.
Scan #2, panel 3. You guys just volunteered to give BATMAN a ride on your truck to catch up to car jacker who almost ran that woman over. Boy Scout Medal of the Day.
Scan#4, panel 1. THAT is how you capture everything in the art about the Batman DCAU that makes it great. - The billowing cape hinting at the true larger-than-life character, - Elegant silhouettes determening a solid, stoic, powerful figure sure of his motives, actions and convictions - Capturing that chaotic "moment" when everything seems to happen so fast yet happen as if time slowed down at the same time, the moment of truth, and when that time comes, the Batman does not fail. - The presence of the Bat has already captured you, the reader and the fleeing criminal. That tiny line indicating a rope is just a manifestation of that will. And it's not the wrapping up of one leg, or both legs. It's his entire body. The hood has absolutely no chance to escape. And he is barely registering it in his eyes as the only thing that does escape is his breath. - You don't NEED the eyes to pierce the night, to cry vengeance. The shadow of the Batman has reached out and made Bruce as supernaturally close to the "bogeyman" and wraith as he can be. Nothing mere about THAT mortal.
