Invincible #60 Preview

Picking up from a previous story Angstrom Levy the dimension hopping villain of Invincible is revealed as having survived...

Course he was brutally BRUTALLY beat down.

And it seems he's brought an Invincible army with him. I'm guessing it'll take the entire Image verse to take these baddies down.

I love interdimensional hopping fun. I want an Exiles Invincible croosover courtesy of Angstrom Levy RIGHT NOW.

Since when was Image a shared universe?

And by "forever changed," do they mean that their other franchise titles will actually become interesting?

It's been shown or implied as shared. But mostly fairly recently like in Savage Dragons Image world tour and other cameos.

Since the beginning, more or less. For example, Savege Dragon was seen on TV in an early issue of Spawn and Lefeld's Badrock guest-starred in the original Dragon mini-series.

And with more or less, I mean on and off. Sometimes the other heroes are there to help, other times not, like in other shared universes. And sometimes whole groups just... vanish, like the Wildstorm Universe.

Since always - Wildstorm, and whatever Liefeld's company was called at the time breaking away/being kicked out resulted in a lot of 'orphaned' crossovers.

More recently, MacFarlane and Valentino's lines are treated as the same universe, which are in the same universe as Dynamo 5, etc.

Since damn near the beginning. I believe the original explanation for who killed Spawn was Chapel of Youngblood. Savage Dragon, the Pact, and Trencher have all shown up in Shadowhawk. There was a Cyberforce/Witchblade crossover I believe.

Witchblade HAS NO PLACE IN THAT COVER. Unless it's an alternate universe one, but still - Witchblade / Darkness always seemed to have their own little corner to themselves. :(

The idea, as Eric Larson tells it, is that an Image Universe only exists so far as that other characters from other Image comics have counterparts in each book. So, the Invincible universe is separate from the Witchblade universe, but there's a Witchblade who also exists in the Invincible universe, who has probably had many adventures similar to the Witchblade from the Witchblade comic universe. But there may not be an Invincible in the proper Witchblade universe.

It sounds a little confusing when I type it down, but it boils down to: Continuity only needs to be title-specific. Otherwise, go wild.

I figured something like that was going on. Hell, compared to the mess some continuities have become, it's nice and refreshing IMO.

Non-binding continuity. I dig it. That's about the only way it could work, with that many people.

I hope Kirkman doesn't start pulling this crossover crap on a regular basis...

I've pretty much drifted away from Invincible, so I don't much care if he does Wolfman and Savage Dragon blends and the like, but if this throws off Dynamo 5 in any way shape or form I'm going to be very annoyed.

Throws off? I doubt it'll affect any title at all.
