Secret Six #12
So wrong, yet so right.

As much as I like Jeanette and took freakish enjoyment in seeing what she could deal out.

Artemis, assumed, to some degree, dead at the end of the last issue, was far too badass to allow herself to be overlooked.

I know Artemis is an Amazon, but the phrase goes "bastards who need killing." It's cute how she mixes up idioms.

Heh. Me, I take it that yes, these people in general need killing... but doing what they did to her makes it suicide by Amazon.

Um ... to describe something in need of something by saying it "wants" something is a genuine, if archaic, usage.

And for a moment there I thought Jeanette was Fantomah.

She really IS a kickass character. We had so much stuff going on in WW there just wasn't room for her yet. But some really fun stuff (and NOT fun stuff) happens in the next couple issues.

Artemis and Hippolyta have quickly become two of my very favorite characters to write. I just get giggly when I get to their scenes.

And yes, I am a massive nerd.

Oh, for crying out loud. Wonder Woman goes down like a pimp and gets dragged throughout the entire issue? It could only happen to Wonder Woman. I'd love to see this happen to Batman. One shout and they're down foaming at the mouth.. This is complete bullcrap.

If Jeanette's powers work anything like the Silver Banshee's (since they're both banshees), it works so well because Jeanette knows Diana's real name.

I like the way they echoed Silver Banshee's facepaint-or-whatever as a sort of visual shorthand. Four o'clock cannot come quickly enough!

It looks like this wave is supposed to be based off of McGuiness's art, but I don't think the aesthetic match the generic DCUC bodies.

Loved this. Just love these guys. Rdprvislly yhodr polks dots for some reason.

I'm not worried about WW being taken out briefly. If she doesn't get surprised once she can't fight herself out of a far worse situation later. Plus there was that nice little conversation about Batman taking her out ("Yeah. Sure. I'll just bet that's how it went.") earlier.

Part of me really wants to see Artemis, Scandal and Bane hangout for an issue od down time.

And is it just me who's seen so many of the damn things by now that it's painfully obvious that rifle is missing its magazine?

See, what upset me about this issue was the Bane fight.

It was made clear that Jeanette was a closet badass in the past few issues. Didn't she mention getting executed several times?

But Scandal and Bane? It seemed a little forced that they would . . . well, reply to me if you know what I'm talking about so there aren't any spoilers for people scanning the page.

I WILL NEVER NOT LOVE THIS SERIES. I loved Jeanette Banshee-ing up (is there a term this?) I was actually kind of scared. Her execution sounded really awful and I like Jeanette a lot more now. Scandal's handling over the whole situation was amazing too. But I could be biased because I have a crush on Scandal.

I really enjoyed this issue. Not quite sure what the fuss is over WW losing a fight like this. She was obviously taken by surpise by the whole Banshee thing, (How exactly does that work anyway? Is it a sonic thing like Black Canary or a soul attack like ghost riders?..Or a mixture of both?)

And anyway WW came on a little cockily, with her 'I'm out of all your leagues' type comments. Marvel's Thor, who has always been at least as powerful as WW, has waded into battle like this before with his own anger and self assuredness clouding his judgment, and as a consequence suffered some humiliating defeats. But time and time again he's rallyed back again when he's learnt to be a little less presumptious about some of his opponents..And WW's at least as smart as Thor, so I'm sure she'll keep her wits about her the next time they lock horns..

No big deal, it's nice for these things to be more unpredictable, as I had feared that WW would wipe the floor with everyone. So this was a nice surprise. But I'm sure Diana will bounce back..
