Guess who's back?

What with all the MiracleMan/MarvelMan talk over the past week, I thought I'd post 4 of the six pages from MM's most recent appearance - the Image anniversary hardcover.

To think, we'll never get to see more of this masterpiece...

	...Question: Why is Miracleman talking to Spawn? Since when was he playing to be on par with God and the Devil? I have to admit the idea of Spawn being a "Frankenstein" with parts of Al Simmons' soul is an interesting one, though. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	If nothing else, this shows that comics are equal opportunity: Man o' Miracles is doing that "here's my chest AND my ass" pose that so many super-heroines have mastered. (Reply to this)

	The idea of Franken-spawn is intriguing. Spawn actually has some interesting notions occasionally. Too bad they're like tiny slivers of gold buried in about half a ton of shit. I mean hell, this doesn't even read like any version of Miracle Man I'm familiar with. (Reply to this)

	The dental work is amazing. Spawn's upper teeth are all identical incisors, he should really see someone about that, and Miracle's all lean inwards, like a shark's. How bizarre. (Reply to this)

He didn't. IIRC McFarlane only owned (or thought he did) the MM logo and maybe the likeness of the character but not any of the previous stories due to the legal quagmire the rights were in. This was basically him trying to get some money out of it and piss off Gaimen (who was suing him at the time) by waving the logo in his face.

Of course then the writer of Spawn at the time completely changed Man of Miracles to look like a white-haired anime character before revealing that "he" was actually both Jesus Christ and the mother of both God and the Devil (Man of Miracles = MoM, get it?) who had been reborn on Earth as Spawn's wife's twin children.

	Yeah, the story has that effect on people. And I left out some of the "best" parts like Spawns granny getting caught in the Rapture and made a soldier in Heavens army, the Apostles being super-warrior angels led by Judas (who kills Spawn) and Spawn becoming more powerful then God and the Devil.
