There are good things about all three versions. If there's one place that the "modern" one falls down, it's in the weird red shadows on Parker's face. The use of a deep red in a multiply layer for facial shadows (also on display in the wraparound, which is a very nice piece of work regardless) will be as much of a cliche of the 00s as the formless gradient highlight was of the 90s.
If the faces weren't so weird the 00s version would be the best all around. The purple's much better in that one. I think I like the desaturated green in the first better, but that's just personal preference there.
Oh, the naturalistic office is much stronger with modern coloring, but the electric blue surprise lines seem a much stronger choice to me than the yellow ones. Go figure.
