Golden Age Wonder Woman
When I first made this post, which was pretty early in my GA WW postings, I remarked that several people at the old s_d were so amazed at the amount of bondage and other crack that they asked me if I was sure my scans hadn't been photoshopped. When one has experienced the full crackiness of GA WW, photoshopping more craziness in would seem anticlimactic.

The Sherlockian title of the story from which today's scans come is "Adventure of the Kidnapers of Astral Spirits", originally published in Sensation Comics #25 in 1944.

Just two panels from this one. I'm not trying to convey the full story or anything, just highlighting the most cracktastic bits:

Diana, if they know anything about you, it didn't take that much cleverness.

Apparently Steve sleeps with the mental radio apparatus on just in case Wonder Woman calls him in the middle of the night.

First panel: That's pretty philosophical for something directed at ten year olds.

Second panel: If my girl-friends were Wonder Woman, I wouldn't take any chances that I might miss a message from her, either.

More likely, the mental radio thing buzzed, he sat up and put on the headband to answer it. I mean, if the panel showed him talking on a regular phone, you wouldn't assume he was sleeping with his hand holding the receiver.

Knowing Wonder Woman, I think that first panel's got it the wrong way around.

Yeah, they obviously don't know anything about her if they've been sitting around wondering how to make her enjoy being a prisoner. Like it would take some kind of special effort on their part or something! Isn't it sweet?

"Steve! I'm like totally asleep in this girl's room! Get over here . . . and, uh, make sure no one disturbs me, you know."

Steve to himself: "I'll bring the tape recorder, I can make a few bucks."
