They're being coy as to whether Val is spying FOR Fury or if she's betraying him, and presumably has been for some time. If it's the former, I will be mildly pleased. If it's the latter, well, I can't say I would be shocked considering the premise of this book is that everything we knew was wrong whether it makes sense or not, and we are living in an age where character and continuity are strictly secondary to the stories they want to tell RIGHT NOW. It would make me unhappy, yes, but at this point Marvel has done so much to make me unhappy that it's like kicking a dead puppy. It's mean and disrespectful, but the puppy at least can't feel it any more.
