As scans_daily appears to be the single largest depository of Tigra fans in this hemisphere, I'm shocked no one has posted these pages just yet.

To me, this is about as right as Ray Palmer 'interogating' criminals using the same method his ex-wife used to kill Sue Dibny - As in, it's utterly wrong.

I'm all for Tigra getting her own back, but to just have her use the Hood's own methods is dropping to his pathetic level, IMO.

Also, when did the art get good again in this book? And have we seen anything more of Typhoid Mary?

Ramos didn't draw this one, and Typhoid's not in it. It's very much a "let's move eight subplots forward" sort of issue, and I think I've missed an issue or two.

I don't think having Tigra slowly stalk and hunt the Hood's subordinates as part of making an eventual run straight at him really compares to Ray suddenly being a torturer. It's not as blatantly out of character; as a matter of fact, it's a cat stalking and playing with prey.

But stalking =/= ambushing someone and shoving their face through a mirror. Setting things up so that she actually stalked him--neutralizing/countering/avoiding his powers, making him run, really terrorizing him while barely scratching him--would have been much preferable. Between the failure to do this, the lack of tail, and those badly-drawn hands, I have to wonder if this is really Greer.

I think it's basic guerrilla warfare. Hood is now a silent part of law enforcement and a major part of the criminal underground. Thus throwing his people in jail accomplishes nothing.

But show that he can't protect his people, and you undermine his ability to operate. Get his people looking over their shoulder and they might miss what's right ahead of them.

Seems better than just allowing them to abuse the justice sysem.

Nah, more like An actually justified Jack Bauer method.

Though if any hero actually tried the Weston method, Dark Reign would be over in like, two days.

Judge: Mr. Osborn, you stand accused of two-hundred and ten counts of fraud, one hundred and seventeen counts of misusing government resources, and forty-two counts of murder. This court has in hand evidence and an audio confession matching your voice print. Do you have anything to say for yourself?

Norman: It was a trick! A setup!

Judge: By whom?

Norman: He said his name was Alan! He had a Boston accent, and he worked with this guy called Chuck Finley and this skinny, supermodel-type! You have to believe me!

Judge: Riiight. How do the people stand on bail?

Jack McCoy: The people request remand, your honor.

She left during the Madripoor storyline when one of her other personalities over.

I sent Gage an e-mail asking if we'd see any more of her, and he replied "She's back to her crazy self, so you're more likely to see her as a Daredevil villain, but that doesn't mean she'll never show up again...you never know!"

Ah, excellent. As much as I enjoyed the obvious revelation that she was Mutant Zero, I'd love to see her handled by someone other than Bendis in a Daredevil book again, and with the upcoming creative team change, it looks as though I might get my wish.

Strangely, don't have as much of a problem with this as with torture. Sure she's brutalizing him, but it's no worse than what the Hood's gang did to her, and I can see her going for 'an eye for an eye' since the legal system is not going to actually afford her any justice with the current state of affairs.

Besides, it could be worse. At least she hasn't gone completely feral and started eating them.

Another point - while the breaking of the arm is disturbingly deliberate, it's not really much worse of an injury than superheroes routinely mete out in the course of regular brawls with their villains. At least she didn't give the dirtbag brain damage...

One has to remember, however, just who she's going up against here - Osborn's boys. She has deep personal reasons for being a bit grim 'n gritty with them - they've threatened her, her family, even her unborn child. I mean, even Superman went a little crazy when Luthor seemingly killed his parents - this is a line you do not cross. Furthermore, there's self-loathing involved here - up until recently, she was a willing participant in this system, thinking that her side was in the right. Now that the corruption has been unearthed - well, she's probably feeling a bit ashamed. Overall, I'd say it's perfectly understandable that she's going a little nuts - she may be going a little beyond the pale, but it's not like we can't understand why.

Actually, isn't it Marvel's go-to expression for villains getting the shit beaten out of them? I'm reminded of Bendis' handling of Typhoid Mary during his 'Hardcore' storyline, and faced with the mary-sues of Cage and Jones, Mary's only response was 'AIIEEE!'

No, it's Bendis' favourite sound effect to put in the mouth of female characters routinely getting the crap beaten out of them. Typhoid Mary was one, Tigra was another in New Avengers (thus the echoing of it here), Jessica Jones in Alias, I was disappointed to discover when I reread some issues recently. I'm sure others can point to other examples.

How does that solve anything, the Brothers Grimm weren't even directly involved. If it at least had been Jigsaw, I'd understand (IIRC, he taped the whole thing), but beating up a random Z-Lister with, at best, a peripheral connection to the incident only serves to make Tigra look even more powerless, imho.

IIRC, the Brothers were there on the scene, and she states right there on panel that this is only the beginning. I believe the implication is that she's going to work her way through the entire crew, one beatdown at a time.

Yup, bringing fear to the Hood's powerbase, all those Z-listers that are his muscle and know that they don't stand a chance in a one-on-one.

I find it funny that no one noticed the problem with the whole Dark Reign business up until now: The heroes have secret identities, the villains didn't have them ever. Now, the heroes are in hiding while the villains are out there in public, their names and faces well-known.

Why hasn't one single writer up until know caught up on the irony of this situation?

I think you're missing my point.

Cheetah, one of Wonder Woman's signature villains got knocked out by Batman no less than two times. Batman is just a man who can accomplish this feet where a super all powerful Wonder Woman actually has to put up an effort when she fights Cheetah. One time he knocked her out was when she was only climbing a freaking ladder.
