Yup. I mean, I like this version because it has Majestic, but, you're right. Asimov's "The Last Question" is better. I don't say that because I'm more of an Asimov fan (I'm an Asimov fan, just not a huge one) than Moore, but because Asimov's is funny. He grasps the comedy value of drunk technicians, stupid users, and capable but ultimately unwise/unknwoing computers.
At the risk of sounding like a literary douche who has no idea what he's talking about (mostly because I'm making this up as I go) Asimov had a grasp on post-cyberpunk irony before cyberpunk existed when he wrote "The Last Question."
