Power Girl #2
Since no one else has posted anything...

The thing that I really like about this page...aside from the obvious, heh, heh, heh...are the first three panels at the bottom. I've never had a high regard for Amanda Conner's art, because I didn't think her eyes ever followed the narrative very. However, this issue, this page and the last page, where Peej's eyes are essentially her dialog, has made me take back every negative thing I've said about Conner.

I also like U-H's method for thwarting heat vision...although it's kind of out of step with the earlier demonstration of Peej using her heat vision as a force beam to knock U-H off her back. Still, the effort to detail the deathtrap here is appreciated.

I'm not feeling the art in this, particularly in the top panel, where we clearly need a "legs don't work that way" tag applied. But I agree that Peej's eyes in the bottom three panels are great.

I'd been really looking forward to this series, and sadly I'm not enjoying it as much as I'd hoped. But there are little shiny moments here and there, and you've nailed one of them.

A deathtrap properly applied can make me completely unobjective when judging a comic book, but...yeah. I really hope Grey and Palmiotti step up the character quirkiness alot in coming issues, because barring this kind of scene in every other issue, I'm going to get very critical very fast.

And it was a joke, btw. There's a running gag about her lack of a camel toe, but they've never explained it.

there's also a running joke about the effects of her suit on any...hair down there, too. I believe 'brillo pad' was the term bandied about. :D

By the way, WTF is a "viscous camel-toe"?

I HOPE she meant vicious.

Viscous... I don't expect that to be very comfortable.

Well...............
....
....(Oh, boy)
.....
Let me be honest. Rape is something that I detest to quite substantially. However, I can't help but find it silly and unsexy when people willingly do bondage. That's all. .... well, not quite. Everyone has their own thing and as long as they keep to it responsively, I have zero issues about it. It's like violence. Nobody likes it, but we always get a kick out of watching it in some way other than in real life scenarios.

I'm with you on the torture part, which is one reason I left off the last page. Deathtraps and peril are where I draw my line.

Agreed, imminent (rather than actual) peril and deathtrap related bondage all the way (With the possible exception of that Perez Robin/Brother Blood scene where I was consistently and sufficiently distracted by the fact Dick was topless)

Sounds like a lot of good material to work with.

Honestly, between that and the fact that I can't recall the last time Peej actually did anything that couldn't just as easily be accomplished by a monkey, albeit one with superpowers, this actually starts to sound like a really sensible trade. The Power Girl body can match itself up with an incredible intellect and a) begin behaving like somebody who could actually feasibly be in charge of a group like the JSA and b) stop pretending that it's not delighted by boob jokes, and the Peej personality can continue to punch things very forcefully and be easily angered. Everyone wins.

So he's "sparing" her by putting her brain in his gorilla body? Ah, okay, that's what was confusing me. The whole "cutting out her brain" thing didn't seem like sparing her.

Woah, woah, woah, wait, woah.

Cut out the least used part of her body.

...

Complete with many cleavage shots.

Her chest is bare and exposed.

...

If he's planning on cutting off her boobs, I will kill myself.
