Hitch Cover and Preview of Reborn #1
The Hitch cover and a link to a preview of Reborn #1 under the cut.

The cover:

Theres a six-page preview at the LA Times HERE

I gotta say I dislike Hitch's changes to Cap's costume.

Maybe this was the prototype costume. :)

I find it acceptable. Of course he's going to be wearing a helmet while storming the beaches of Normandy. He's trying to set a good exemple to the men.

I'm not 1,000% clued up on the Cap lore, but shouldn't he be using a triangular shield at this point?

He actually used the circular shield for most of the war. In real life he only used the triangular shield for his first issue before it was forced to be changed because MLJ (later Archie) thought it looked to similar to there character the Shield.

no, the triangular shield was dropped very quickly. I think it was only in one a two issues of the first comic and I'd bet in continuity it was dropped within a few months.

I don't know why, but the red spatboots over what look like regular combat boots amuse the hell out of me.

Might just be me, but his right arm (left from our perspective) looks...really...really...damn awkward. Like he should be carrying something in that arm but...isn't.

As for the costume, eh. I love the boots but the helmet...reminds me of the Captain America tv movie too much. Like, it's completely comic books, but Hitch isn't drawing this comic book but more real, cinema style. If he is going with that flavor, better to use the original with a normal helmet on top.
