One Perfect Endless Moment - #3 Delirium
Delirium must be a, literally, insanely difficult character to write

She has to be able to make sense, but in a nonsensical, way. She also has to be slightly terrifying

There were several candidates for this posting, but this is the weirdest one.

Delirium has invited herself to visit Dream, and he offers her a meal. In the Dreaming, you can have access to anything you, or anyone else, has ever dreamed of, that makes for one hell of an a la carte option, and some very strange staff.

Noting how unreadable Dreamsword bubble can be when scanned, panel 3 has him saying "Stop that", panel 7 is "Is this formal family business sister?"

There's something about the brief sad little lives of the chocolate people, which always makes me feel very sorry for them.

Now, if I had my choice, expiring while copulating desperately in a frenzy of lust, combined which chocolately raspberry cream spasms, might not be number one. But make it a spasm of strawberry cream, and you may just have have yourself a winner.

	Neil always said she was actually the easiest to write, since writing her was so much fun. I love the scenes where the Endless are just hanging out. And Dream's little bare feet! (Reply to this)

	Yeii! That last panel is probably my favorite panel, ever. I read it for the first time one night when I was very angsty and it kind of pressed the button for me to get a grip again. I've printed it off and pasted it on my mirror. Chocolate raspberry...drools (Reply to this)

Heh, my favorite Delirium moment would be when she's trying to get into Lucifer's night club to talk to him near the end of the series. Lucifer's lover, the half-faced demoness waitress Mazikeen won't let her through.

Delirium's response?
"Hmph. If you don't let me in, I will turn you into a demon half-face waitress night-club lady with a crush on her boss, and I'll make it so you've been that from the beginning of time to now and you'll never EVER know if you were anything else and it will itch in your head worse than little bugses."

My brain nearly implodes every time I try to think about whether she did or didn't... She really is insanity itself.

	It was torn between this moment and the one where she mentions, in passing, that she met a girl that day who was really unhappy... and so she had made her happy.. and she'd be happy for ever and ever and ever. The implications are just too damn creepy to think about for long. (Think what happens to Wybie in Coraline) (Reply to this) (Parent)

	God, I love that moment, a perfect illustration of how she actually understands identity more than any of the others, which is important given how identity is like the second most important theme of the comic. Funnily (in a 'well, isn't that queer?' way, not a 'bwahaha' way), I only ever feel the briefest of pity for the little chocolate people and their short, sex-filled lives, before that thought expands itself out into a somewhat frightening existential pondering of their lives and how they came to be, which then expands out into slightly bizarre ponderings of our own lives... Then I get really freaked out and have to force myself to read on to straighten my head out, before I descend into Del's personal territory.

Which, really, just makes the moment that much more perfect.
