Week of Doom: Doom in Hell
Now that Doom has been plucked from and sent back to Hell, we find out how Doom spends his time while suffering eternal damnation.
Doom, as always, remains Doom.

3 pics from Fantastic Four #537

Warning: big pics

This is the last time we see the I'm-wearing-my-girlfriends-dead-flesh-as-leather armor.

Even in Hell, Doom bows to none and serves no one. He will battle until the end of time.

Woe to any hellspawn along the way.

Is it me or is there something missing in the eyes? Some part of the otherwise perfect art that lets you know that the iron will behind the eyes of Doom will never, ever, quit.

That is Epic and Metal, Dethklok needs to write a song about it.

Very, very awesome. Total Doom, he is one of those characters in the MU who has absolutely no give in him.

You're right, the eyes aren't quite right. Not enough "Fuck You" in them. Doom is a mask-wearing character, his eyes need to speak for him.

I love how the dialogue for Doom works with him but won't with virtually any other character. "There's Doom enough for all!" It's like him referring to himself in the third person. It just works for Doom!

Yeah his eyes are very calm and bored here. The dialogue is great though. Doom and Mojo Jojo are the true masters at talking in the third person. Nobody can top them. NOBODY!

"Come and let us make an end of it. Attack me with all your might and there will be an ending of the battle. March in this direction in such a way that to the casual observer it might seem that you will be destroying Mojo Jojo, but it is not Mojo Jojo who will be destroyed, but rather you who will be destroyed, by me, Mojo Jojo!

There is Mojo Jojo enough for all! The amount of Mojo Jojo is sufficient for handling a number of demons which is in excess of the number of demons which are here to battle Mojo Jojo! I, Mojo Jojo, will destroy each demon which comes to attack me, Mojo Jojo, and there will still be a complete Mojo Jojo left standing after all of the attacks have been completed and all of the demons are gone, leaving only me, Mojo Jojo!"

Mojo Jojo does not talk like that! The way Mojo Jojo communicates is much different. Mojo Jojo does not reiterate, repeat, reinstate the same thing over and over again. Mojo Jojo is clear, concise, to the point!

This is the only part of Unstinkable that is actually in character for Doom.

Except it's not part of Unthinkable.

This is by JMS.

I beg your pardon? I was praising this story, especially as contrasted with the out of character mess that was Unthinkable. Did you perhaps mistake me?

It's probably just a fan with poor taste who likes Waid's skinwearing!Doom.

It's not like Doom has anything to lose at this point. What's the worst that could happen? He dies and goes to Hell? Oops, already there.

Pah! This would not be Doom's Hell. Mere hordes of demons? Not even worth the time it takes to commit a sin worthy of being sent there.

Doom's Hell would involve being locked in a room where all his ideas and plans and scientific developments are peer reviewed by Reed Richards, and only when (the accursed) Richards has edited and corrected the plans so they ARE perfect can Doom leave to carry them out.

So Doom must choose between carrying out a plan which Richards has improved, or not committing any plan at all...

Now THAT would be hell to Victor Von Doom! :)

Okay, THIS is more like it. It's still stupid that he wouldn't have his doomtech, but otherwise, yes.

Is it me or is there something missing in the eyes?

Doom looks bored. Which . . .

Now this is a Doom I can believe, confident and calm in the face of ludicrous odds powered only by sheer, galactic level arrogance.

Yeah, but that means that somewhere behind them is a pile of kitties who no longer HAVE any ears thanks to the demons. LOL your way out of THAT one cats!

THIS ISSUE: Doom plays the part of Jon Irenicus at the end of Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

NEXT ISSUE: COMETH... THE PLUMBER!

Dittoes on the awesome dialogue, so-so art. I mean, the art is technically impressive, but... are those demons supposed to be scary? With those little pig ears? They look like Deadpool would have them doing the Thriller dance inside of half-an-hour.

Doom's ladyfriend must have been pretty built to have skin enough to make a whole suit of armour for him. He's a pretty big guy. Or is he wearing the skin of his dead girlfrind... and some cows.

Not just skin. Muscles, internal organs, blood, soft tissue, lymphatic nodes and ligaments for the straps....
