It's nice to be armchair analysts, but the research leans towards human development as social animals (with occasional jaunts into opportunism given our evolutionary history as...well, Opportunists).
It's not as cut and dried as some present it. A singular, sourceless example won't work very well to prove your point. I could easily find stories of good samaratins in similar crisese that would negate your evidence but only belabor the discussion.
So I give you monkeys. Because: 1) It's cute. 2) It's got National Geographic and David Attenburough, which is awesome. 3) EVERYTHING is better with monkeys.
