She-Hulk vs. She-Hulk

Scans from All-New Savage She-Hulk #2.

The first issue ended with Lyra brawling with She-Hulk, while flashbacks to the past (in the future) depicted her adventure to the gateway to the past.

In the future, she reaches her destination:

Back in the present day, Lyra and Jen duke it out for a bit. Jen's not really clear who she is, but, since she resembles Thundra, brings her up.

Burn, Bob.

Norman promptly turns up, with the rest of his posse.

Wow. The Sentry's kind of a jerk.

I actually kind of like that angrier/weaker switchup. Very Karate Kid!

But how else can Marvel find new ways to jam the Sentry down our throats?

Have him fight actual threats to him... the Eternals.

'Age of' was pretty awesome, but that's the Jeff Parker magic of making nearly anything palatable.

The first mini was actually kind of brilliant.

The first mini, WHEN HE WAS INTENDED NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN, was okay, but even that was basically just "Paul Jenkins writes Miracleman."

"Hero" in the future is a curse word; from everything we've seen in her future, something he does causes a global catastrophe.

I think they're just looking at hero through power potential. "I'm the strongest, so I could theoretically do the most. That makes me the most powerful."

"I'm the most influential. I can affect the greatest number of people. THat makes me the most powerful."

Still, the fact that Norman Osborn has been promoted to even THAT level is STILL 100-percent wrong.

Norman is now Marvel editorial's Villain Sue.

Wow. Awkward and screwed up way to get Jen out of the issue.

Thanks, Marvel. Not even Van Lente's awesome Tower of Techno-Babbleâ„¢ can make me like this after seeing Bob's dick ex machina.

So, Ismene - I mean Jocasta - had to take a second job, huh? Poor Jocasta.

On the other hand, I want to know what conditioner Bob is using.

"On the other hand, I want to know what conditioner Bob is using."

Only his hairdresser (C.L.O.C) and Norman Osborn know for sure.

Interesting detail - note that the Wolverine portrait brought up by the Jocasta-figure is not the REAL Wolverine, but instead the imitation-Avengers version - he only has two claws. Also, that 'Spidey' is clearly Venom. This would seem to suggest, therefore, that Lyra comes from a future where Osborn's Avengers have been accepted by society as the REAL Avengers, and the others have been handwaved away. It's subtle, but well-done.
That being said, the thought of such a future coming into being in the first place is something that has dire implications. It implies that the Os-vengers are going to be a major presence for some time now, which is exasperating for us who prefer our avengers to be, y'know, actually HEROIC.

Someone needs to make some kind of movement to boycott any issue of anything that the Sentry appears in, period.
