Krona gives us a glimpse of 2012
This is how the world ENDS.

Preview of Trinity #50, from Newsarama

With 2012 coming up and the prophecised end of the world, I always wondered how it would end... if the sun exploded and the planet died. What would it look like from our perspective... this is a pretty good idea of the image, should our bodies survive the shockwaves.

And then the plot really begins to meander into the cosmic absurd. I swear, you need to be on some serious motta laced with some hallucinogen to understand the last 2 pages of the preview....

Why is Supergirl even remotely bothered by the lack of atmosphere?

Well, she does need to breathe, unless a writer says otherwise.

Looks more like the force of the planet breaking knocked her back though.

It shouldn't be able to kill her I don't think, so I guess bad writing or she's just knocked out by the force

She's probably more bothered that the source of her powers exploded.

Pretty much everyone was hooked into the spell holding Krona. He broke it, so I imagine that's why Kara and the Trinity are fucked up.

Is that a regular horse or a superhorse?

(and yes, legion of 3 worlds says equine Comet is back in continuity!)

I'm reminded of that incident with NASA where a test subject was accidentally exposed to a vacuum due to a leaking suit, and he later reported that his last memory before losing consciousness was feeling the water on his tongue start to boil. Depending on how quickly everyone above was ejected into space, if they're alive when they reach vacuum? Ugh, what a horrible way to die.

Yes! In yet another costume that isn't the one she's actually wearing these days. XD

I don't mind so much in this case though, because that one's my favorite of the bunch. Plus given the weirdness of reality in the DCU at this point in the story it's possible she's still a slightly alt!Huntress even with things seemingly having reset to normal (apart from the Trinity).

See, I suspect that's the costume Tony Daniel was thinking about when he said there was too much black in Huntress's costume. Because the modern one doesn't really have black, does it? All the dark portions are purple.

I actually like the purple and white one better, come to think of it. There's more contrast between the purple and white than the black and the shade of purple we usually see on the older costume.

Which is why I don't prefer it - it's too bright and obvious for Huntress, not something to be worn at night or that you could ever properly stalk someone in. It's a nice look on its own merit (apart from the weird jaw triangles), but as Helena it doesn't fit.

I rank it above Helena Wayne's, though, which was actually reasonably-well suited to Helena Wayne's character.

...but it's pretty!

Actually though, what really made me think it fit Helena was that issue Bedard did where she ends up driving a school bus briefly. Purple is dark enough that she can blend into the shadows if she wants to, and she can certainly be intimidating when she wants to, but if she is saving kids and acting friendly, the costume itself would not scare them. (Which is a contrast to Batman's, given that his costume and overall look still has the potential to scare kids even if he's not acting scary.)

If they're floating in space, why aren't they exploding? O_o;

Well it seems like some of them are being affected by explosive decompression at least a little--it seems like it's just the NPCs that are having their blood float out into space, but you'd think at least Huntress would be affected.

(As for why they're not exploding: explosive decompression is just a figure of speech...then again, this is comic books)

They also have to watch out for those pesky particles of sunlight, which contain many atoms.

I know it's a figure of speech (or rather, explosions don't always mean big booms), but they certainly should be more SPLUT than they are right now. I'm not sure if those NPCs are getting that way or if they're just bleeding.

Kill them all! Then bring them back! Then kill them again, maybe raping them too! Then bring them back and rewrite everything! Then kill them, bring them back as zombies, and rinse, and repeat, and...

Somewhere in this Atlantis attacks. I forget anymore.

Fortunately, I decided that the DCU ended with Final Crisis, so I'm not bothered. I would just submit that if DC is so obsessed with death, just remember, it's down, not across.
