...It's like Chicken Pox. It's terrible and itchy and annoying when it first hits, but it's also just par for the comics costume disease course...So once it finally clears up you breath a sigh of relief, you think it's gone, and everything's okay... Then it comes back and it's SHINGLES! Nasty nerve herpes that hurts WORSE because you thought it was all OVER.

You know wearing short shorts in the vigilante business is unquestionably dumb. We all know this, and yet heroes like Black Canary, and Wonder Woman make it work.
But Helena's midriff is exposed !!! Kevlar cape or not that is just flat out asking for your insides to be shot to swiss cheese.
This would all be moot if she were kryptonian >_<;;
Lastly why could it have not been designed in 2 separate pieces instead of one continuous leotard with a belly window.

I am really annoyed with her outfit.

Well as buxom as she is drawn I a will agree,
Ia m a buxom chick myself and I think ( OMG I would so fall out ) Then again considering how well her bodice is made, it is possible for her not to fall out. Still , I personally would want straps.
Just trying to be optimistic. What I was really referring to, despite thier lack of clothing, Canary's outfit could be made out of a kevlar or some kind of bullet proof lined material?
Diana has her bullets and bracelets trick.
Poor Helena only has her great abs X-D

*Insert obligatory rant about the stupidity of the Huntress stripper outfit here*

Why did they revert her back to the stupid outfit from her awesome and sensible costume in Birds of Prey?

I think I read somewhere Gail Simone did not like the

" Hey boys put a bullet in this belly space here" outfit and requested she be drawn with more clothes when she was in BOP.

I could be wrong though.

Also, Misfit's face is TOTALLY the same as Barbara's. And Black Canary's.

WTF?

He's a minor character from the Silver Age who teamed up with Batman, a masked crimefighter from argentina. Along with the rest of the Batman of All Nations, he was revamped by YOU GUESSED IT... GRANT MORRISON! He's actually pretty damn-darnit-retro-cool in the Club of International Heroes (Collected as the Black Glove - a story that unlike RIP is worthy of praise.) And just in general one of the few (Very, very FEW) MORRISON PLAYS WITH THE BAT-SILVER-AGE YUK YUK things that... Were good. Actually genuinely VERY good, IMHO. (Squire the same, loved her.) But that doesnt' necessarily mean I want him sticking around.

I've never seen anyone bash the Club of Heroes arc.

I think Morrison pulled it off in part due to the fact that the focus was on a bunch of characters that (1) weren't Batman, (2) were quite human and had failings, and (3) weren't pulling "I'm prepared for EVERYTHING, even gods!"

I'm liking this so far, generally. Not sure what's up with Huntress not liking Batgirl, but I love that Misfit's skills are being put to good use and that she's being given the chance to be helpful.

(Although, this page reminds me of another art-related pet peeve of mine: Not every woman in existence has long fingernails with red polish, and probably not ones who are typing at a keyboard all day and night. I can buy Babs getting manicures, since she might be inclined to get a pedicure, but long nails seems a little impractical. Then again, I've never grown my nails that long, so maybe it's possible to type with them and I just didn't know.)

Maybe yes, maybe no...I honestly think trying to draw too many conclusions of what the June books and what-not will look like by these BFTC tie-ins isn't going to get me very far. I think it's a case of poor writers being fed five pieces of info and being told to write books with very little communication going on, and I don't really expect any of it to have much to do with what's really going to happen when the series' start. All EIGHT of them, which may not line up with each other very well either.

It's been obvious from the start - they've telegraphed, laid groundwork for and outright said - that Babs is retiring as Oracle and getting back in the spandex while Cass is getting kicked by the wayside. Some fans have postulated that it's too obvious and therefore a red herring, but I don't buy that. What I am beginning to suspect, though, is that there's been enough backlash that they've reconsidered that and changed their plans for the two Batchicks; that would definitely result in the kind of confusion we're seeing here (and elsewhere, with Oracle), and it's not outside their MO to respond to the fanbase like that.

I wish I knew how far in advance these issues are being done; trying to figure out the behind-the-scenes meta behind all this is a hell of a lot more interesting than any of the actual story has been yet.

The only real hope I can see is that there's been something of the same rebellion that saved Dick when Didio was going to kill him; enough writers, or enough prominent writers, have complained to Levitz about curing Babs and spinning her back to Batgirl that Levitz said no.

I'm not *hugely* optimistic this has happened, but I know that at least in the past, DC people have objected to fixing her spine on the grounds that she was a rolemodel to a lot of handicapped readers.

I admit, I'm conflicted on her being cured; in one sense I don't like that male characters get fixed but females stay damaged, especially since it's a memorial of such a shitty misogynistic plot. But it has allowed her to develop as a character, and has protected her from the kind of character development erasing that happens so often. Writers can't just get on a book and instantly turn her into the catsuited ass-shaking "girl" that they masturbated to so fondly when they were kids.

I continue to find amusing how Babs' and Dick's relationship is almost entirely now about Dick being hot and Babs making leering comments about it. (Surely it must be a personal joke of hers that he looks so silly and grumpy in his network picture.)

Hugo Strange had better be in full "No, I'm Batman!" mode, that's all I can say.

As for hoping anything good will happen regarding Batgirl and Oracle... I'm not falling for that any more. I'm assuming the worst, and if it doesn't happen I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The challenge lies not in predicting what a hero will do, but in exploring what they won't do. And then . . . making them do it.

There's a reason this is coming from a villain.

Well anything where Dinah, Helena and Babs are in the same book is goodness to me. Can we convince them to do this book instead of the Batgirl reboot? I'm with Bluefall the drama behind the scenes must be amazing given the delays. I envision Didio jumping up down holding a picture of Yvonne Craig screaming "This is Batgirl, I want this Batgirl"

But I am having a hard time figuring out when this is taking place. Is in continuity with the Oracle Mini? With the Battle for the Cowl? If so when?

And I agree parsimonia on those nails -- the length is ridiculous for someone who is on a computer constantly. It reminds me of the SNL skit with Neil Patrick Harris was on and they had the air traffic controllers with the long nails.

Grace! :D

And Charlie, and Kate, and Steph, and Cass, and Helena, and Dinah, and Babs...sweet, all my favorite comicbook characters in one. I'm just glad Grace isn't lost in Limbo-land.

And this actually looks pretty decent, besides being tied into that BFTC nonsense and Helena's stripper-costume. I am cautiously optimistic.
