WATCHMEN: Perception!
Here's a small selection from WATCHMEN Chapter 2, with a bigger scan and some notes after the cut.







I've noted in other posts that the Comedian is very perceptive. Here he says that the Roche kidnapping drove Rorschach crazy a good five chapters early, and Nite Owl would probably agree. Rorschach would argue the death of Blair Roche didn't drive him crazy, it simply made him Rorschach.

Another interesting point: this is the second time in this chapter that Jon/Dr. Manhattan is called an H-Bomb.





Sally Jupiter says the same thing to Laurie. This is just be a sign that Sally Jupiter and Eddie Blake are from the same generation and have similar opinions about how Jon is used by the government, rather than an early clue Eddie is Laurie's father. But when it comes to WATCHMEN, it's hard to tell what's a clue and what isn't.

Also, Dan has probably fought regular criminals instead of "schmucks in Halloween suits" for years. The rioters aren't criminals but angry people who want their police back, and Dan knows they are blaming him for the police strike. That's what is bothering him, and Eddie probably knows it. Again, Eddie Blake is very perceptive.
