The God of Mischief Has Been Cast. (Non-Girl Loki News)
Greetings True Believers! Here is the actor that has been cast to play Loki in the upcoming Thor movie. He looks reasonable but I see Loki with dark hair. He'll need some hair color. What do you TB's think.

Also, I'm providing the link to the first Sherlock Holmes trailer. Robert Downey Jr. is Holmes and Jude Law is Watson. I'm conflicted, the film looks entertaining but....it doesn't seem like Holmes. I'll be interested to see the comments on it.

Enjoy!

Barda and Scott - Moving Day!
This is a very special story to me. Well, not really, but it is where I got my icon from.

Around the time of the Bwa-Ha-Ha League, Keith Giffen actually managed to get the greenlight on what was basically a sitcom revolving around Mr. Miracle and Big Barda, who were trying to lead a simple suburban life, complicated enormously by the fact that they were superheroes. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle stopped over, their neighbors got suspicious, there were the Robot Beatles (not robotic beetles, mind you)... fun stuff. It's not quite as good as Jack Kirby's characterizations, IMHO, but it's very hard to dislike. I mean, just look at 'em.

In today's installment, our intrepid heroes (and Oberon) are moving out of the suburbs to the big city. That's right, it's Moving Day (what can I say, Giffen likes this plot). As always, disaster, flirtiness, and banter ensue.

New variant cover for Batman and Robin #1 revealed.
From here

JG Jones variant cover for Batman and Robin #1 (Also shown, the Frank Quietly cover, for comparison of the costume) I think the second one highlights that the black element of the cape os some sort of shoulder mantle, rather than a cape or a hood in it's own right... but I could be completely wrong there....

This actually almost makes me LIKE the new Robin costume!

Children of Cimmerians

So Conan the Barbarian really gets around.  Almost every issue of his adventures there's a new bikini-clad babe for him to score with, walk off into the sunset with, and then ditch in time for the next issue.  But with all this action, there's a suspicious lack of Conan Juniors running around.  Savage Sword of Conan #29 supplies a definitive answer to the all-important question: is Conan shooting blanks?

Requests!
Time once again for you to pester your fellow SDers with requests.

Once a month we will have a requests post where members can ask for certain scans to be posted. Other members seeking inspiration can look through the requests and fulfill someone's dream. Posting a request is no guarantee of its being filled, but request posts will be archived so that members can look through comments from previous months and answer them if they so desire.

The most recent request post will be linked to in the community's profile.

So Scans Daily, what do you want?

(ETA: Have archived previous requests, mod posts and FAQs in the community memories).

Batman #412: Enemy Mime
[info]cat_13145 wanted to see Batman #412, which features Jason grinning, rock, a mime, and the obligatory bad puns.

It's the last time Collins wrote Jason on Batman, and I was going to focus again on Jason's characterization, but I'm a sucker for how the design of the mime. The art, which is by Cockrum, has a very clean, dynamic look, so I ended up doing a lot more 'general story' than a Jason post.

WE-3 #2

I know Grant Morrison divides audiences and I have to say I also find his work terribly hit and miss. Likewise Frank Quitely, where some people can't get past his "swollen faces", I believe is also able to convey motion on the page in the way few artists can. Anyway, they've worked together many times and there's few collaborations I'd describe as being genius, but I feel this way about WE-3.
