Mr Incredible has some Creepy Neighbours

So he's an objectivist who pimped out his 14/15 year old daughter for football tickets? Mmkay.

Also here's some designs for the new Detective Comics Question segment,

Yeah that is creepy.

Luckily, as I said elsewhere; The Parr kids are effectively pedo proof thanks to their super powers.

Those Question designs are actually for the backup in Detective comics. Rucka's LJ entry on it.

Speaking of creepy, there's something about Rodor that makes me think that Montoya should start counting her dirty underwear every day. I do like Renee's designs, though; very cute-butch.

Hay, she's back to a featureless face again.

That bugged the shit outta me in Final Crisis.

She's...the Question? It's just what her mask looks like. Vic wore the same mask when he was the Question.

In Final Crisis, the artists kept trying to partially draw a face on her, like she was wearing a hosiery mask.

Couldn't be as bad as them putting eyes on Vic throughout the '90s.
which was almost as bad as the mullet >:(

Huh. Renee looks slick and way more "Question"y than before, and since the artist was over at Rucka's journal saying that the short hair was for her convenience in fighting... I approve.

That makes sense, but if we want to talk about convenience none of the superheroes should wear capes either.

I assume the next panel is of Bob throwing Jim halfway across the city.

Renee looks like someone you call on when you need problems "fixed". And that's awesome.

Oh, wow, I think I have a little crush on Renee in her Question getups.

Aw, man! First Babs chops off all her hair, then Selina, now Renee. At least she's still the most kissable woman in the DCU ... when she's not hiding her face under Vic's mask. *sigh*

Bob's an objectivist? How do you figure? I don't recall him spouting any "altruism is bad" shit in the movie.

Also: Question sketches = insta-save. Thanks.

Not a problem, and the Objectivism comment was a joke, as people said that he was because he talked about how he thought that if you're good at something your should celebrate it, rather than "embracing mediocrity". And with the villains plot being to make everyone equal being foiled by a better, special group of people.

A couple of various people have said that this was an objectivist message, though I can't remember how accurate it is though.

Oh, yeah, I see.

I somehow doubt that Brad Bird had been reading Ayn Rand, but yeah, I see the implications (and if it was intentional, it was better-done and more entertaining than most objectivist claptrap). On the other hand, non-supers like the villain's henchwoman and Bob's lawyer are integral to the happy ending.

It did make me wonder what Bird had against heroes like Batman or Iron Man, though, or why it was wrong for the villain's super-tech to be freely available.

They said that "when everyone's super, no one will be", so presumably it's along the lines of "if everything is awesome, then there will be nothing to compare it to as the new level of everyone being good at everything makes being really good at something the base standard, so no one is awesome because they'll all be boring and average".

And he probably doesn't have anything against non-powered superheroes, it's just that it was a semi-unintentional riff on the Fantastic Four. With the Parr's standing in for the members of thta team (except Dash), and with Syndrome in the role of Dr Doom, being a guy with no inbuilt superpowers (other than magic, but that probably would have made it too obvious).
