For context, here's a fight between Roman and Jason,

The fight's broken up by Batman, I believe.

Believe it or not but they've made the toy of this version.

Guess what he does with the powerdrill.

Could it be a different Black Mask?

Given the first one had no powers and was shot in the head, I'd say say, "probably".

Worst part is that pose, I almost expect to see him giving a thumbs up with his free hand.

I echo that sentiment. Seems like a toy Ed Gein would have played with as a child.

Yeah, it still creeps me out that people made an action figure of that.

Sigh, I REALLY hate this version of Black Mask, the first one wasn't great but had a certain gravitas.. this one is just a Joker-esque manic looney tune who was supposed to impress us because he was so "Extreeeeeeeme"

Although, most people don't like Black Mask. I think the character has potential to be a good villain, I liked Winick's take on Black Mask and I also liked The Batman's version of him (YOU ARE MY NEW NUMBER ONE!!). Afterall, there are no bad characters, only bad writers.

THe problem with Black Mask I, IMHO, wasn't the concept in and of itself. It was that Blask Mask was never given anything other do other than rip off Jigsaw from the Saw movies and torment Catwoman For The Evulz.

The new Black Mask is Harvel Bullock!

Okay, no, but as an AU that'd be awesome.

I know why the new Black Mask is so scary . . .

To be honest, I get Black and Red mixed up.

I was somewhat confused with his identity being revealed in Batman because
1)They were hiding his identity?
2) Isn't he Captain America's foe? Which is Marvel.

Then I went DUH and smacked myself in the head. Oh, BLACK skull! It all makes sense now!

I quite like the Winick/Mahnke Black Mask, both in his frustration at the dishonour of the super-business and those wonderful expressions - you can see that Doug went out of his way no to just make him a Red Skull clone.

I'd quite like to see some young buck pick up the Black Mask identity - perhaps basing himself on the original expressionless tragedy mask rather than the cliche skull.

...

They did NOT make a toy version of this guy holding a POWER DRILL he was seen using to torture and maim a young girl in one of the most misogynistic plot devices in possibly THE most misogynistic Batman story arc of recent times.

Goddamnit, I should have dropped DC altogether after War Crimes.

I'm calling Alberto Falcone aka Holiday as the new Black Mask. I know he was killed by his sister but when did that ever stop DC?

Is the woman by the way Nocturne, if I recall the name correctly? The woman scientist who stole Scarecrow's research. Because if it is, it's quite clear who Daniel follows most as a writer.

Personally, what I'm looking forward to is for when the REAL Black Mask - the original - comes back.
You know it's going to happen. Eventually, it's going to happen. I don't give a damn if his punctured skull is sitting on some detective's desk right now - this is comics. People are brought back from the dead all the time - Jason Todd was DEAD AND BURIED, and look what happened to him. Roman Sionis has too long of a history with DC for them to abandon him entirely. One of these days, he's going to return - and when he does, 'twill be AWESOME.
Think about it. He's basically a gangster with cult leader tendencies. Well, think about how much easier it'll be to run a cult once you've RISEN FROM THE DEAD. Cults rose up around Superman when he got resurrected - why not a criminal version of that sort of thing? We've already got the Church of Crime - why not the Church of the Mask?
