Buffy #30

As seen in previous issues, Riley's been working with Twilight as part of his inner circle. This issue, Buffy spots him wounded on the battlefield and brings him in.

The three giant Goddesses from last issue are indiscriminately slaughtering both sides. It appears that they've been away from this plane for so long that all humans look the same to them, and they can't tell friend from foe.

Nice to see that Riley didn't sell out. I always thought he was cool, even though he wasn't exactly right for the show/Buffy.

I must admit I despised Captain Cardboard during the series, but it wasn't really his fault. Season 4 is still my least favorite, but not because of him.

Oooh yay, the return of the boyfriend the fans always hated.

Not all the fans, I liked him.

Where's MRS Finn though, I hope at least ONE character got an ongoing happy marriage out of the show, and she was great fun.

In the absence of any hint otherwise, we can assume they're still together, I guess.

Pffft, don't be crazy, that's impossible. There can only be one happy couple in Buffyverse at a time (if that) and now that Oz is a happily married daddy--

No, seriously, by all appearances Mrs. Finn is still around being badass somewhere.

While never finding him that impressive a character, I didn't hate him. Well, at least not until season five.

Well, they haven't brought back Parker Abrams yet. Unless he's Twilight.

If that means Buffy gets to give that guy a few more well-deserved whacks to the head, I would not complain.

I liked Riley! I hated the way he got derailed like hell in Season Five (having it just not work out would've been so much better than vamp hookers, what the hell was that about) but other than that I liked him.

They seemed to be trying to make some kind of point about Buffy's relationships with men, but it wound up being lame and heavy handed and damaging to pretty well all the characters involved.

Best thing this book has done.

I'm not sure. The book predates the character, but I personally didn't hear about the book until way after the character.

I don't think so. He's got nothing in common with the franchise beyond the name; it Whedon wanted to satirize Meyer's books I'd think there'd be a bit more to it than that.

Slayer Army obviously buys the one shade of lipstick, in bulk, to save money.

Or it's just the one stick that everybody is sharing, being applied before battle like some kind of trashy war-paint.

=/

I'm probably one of the few people still digging this series. It's not as good as the show, but as far as an adaptation of something from another media, it's definitely one of the best.

That said, I've been waiting for YEARS for them to reveal who Twilight is. I thought it was going to be Riley until he appeared again. Honestly, the longer it's stretched out, the more anti-climactic the reveal is going to be.

Right now, my money is on Caleb, but the options for who it could be are running thin. Possibly Giles; that would be a great switch. I could see him being entirely against the idea of a Slayer Army.

I think its going to be Tara's brother. Pissed about the death of his sister and using his magic genetics for some serious revenge time.

(Sorta kidding, sorta not because I like that'd be cool.)

Not feeding your powers to a magic eating swamp.

So, Buffy and friends unleash a bunch of killer goddesses on Tibet. Yeah, it's not the most populated country in the world, but still, I don't think that the Tibetans exactly deserve a bunch of killer goddesses stepping on them. And, this after illegally selling the parts from a stolen submarine to God knows who.

Are there supposed to be heroes in this comic or is everyone just a bunch of murdering idiots?

they weren't supposed to be killer goddesses. They were supposed to be benevolent. I wish people would stop putting the blame on the people who are being attacked and fighting for their lives.
